Adorable! Happy babies make the whole world happy.
(And you briefly confused me: I thought at first those were baby pictures of you, but the clothes didn’t look to be of the era. Yes, that’s a hint.)
5.

What a chubby boy! And the baby is cute too.

Put my niece (5 months last Wed. ) in that very same chair on the washer on Sunday.
Her parents call me The Baby Whisperer. “Keep her warm, fed and dry; the rest will come along as needed, when you’re not looking” is my baby care philosophy.
This seems pretty simple to me,, but my sister married another scientist, and it shows. They’re mocking up a cover for the Journal of Infant Reports as I type. Abstracts include my niece’s article: Boulder baby reports that 0 outcomes of 51 experiments resulted in a dropped item falling to the ceiling. To be reproduced by independent research.
What a cutie! Smiling babies make the world a much happier place. Have fun.

The pic in the blue seat looks like a future tank commander to me.
Good on you, Mr. Cole.
“My boy,” he said, “you are descended from a long line of determined, resourceful, microscopic tadpoles–champions every one.”
From Galápagos by Kurt Vonnegut (ch. 28)
Definitely lightened my day and brought a smile to my face.
19.

Cole Junior – who is frickin’ adorable – should one day have the pleasure of experiencing one of these.
PS Is there anything more divine than a baby dressed in plaid?

ONLY babies are allowed to look that pleased with themselves. Grown-ups are more attractive with a at least a bit of humility; hence the problem with Donald Trump …

Oh, that’s the medicine! I had a dreadful day, and even resorted to drinking (not my general habit) and it wasn’t doing anything for me, but I’m smiling now!
Does baby Cole have Irish ancestry? He looks *just like* my grandnephew (greatnephew?), to the point that I could easily confuse pics of them. Maybe cousins back in the old country?
35.

Nom nom nom nom — he’s adorable!

That top picture is the best. Perfectly round head.

It’s good to see happy little guys like young Cole. We can’t let the insane and ugly mean ruin our country for him and the rest of us. My head is still reeling from the loonytunes today alone. I can’t fathom Rick Warren, supposedly a man of God, saying subsidizing people who need it takes away their dignity. I don’t know how he sleeps at night.
Watching 60 Minutes on Sunday really lifted my spirits. The story of creating an orchestra and choir in the Congo against huge odds was incredible and reminded me of the good and lovely things people are capable of. I recommend watching it.
I have a new niece and she’s the most wonderful creature on Earth and I think about her smile all week – I walk up the stairs of my Sister’s house and round the corner and Lydia sees me and soon enough is with big, beauteous smile. She’s amazing, and has changed my heart.
Yay for babies!

@kdaug: I can think of worse situations. At least young Cole will know he is loved.
I have that pic of that baby from before sitting on my desktop. (I hope they don’t think that’s weird.) That baby’s face in that original pick is one of the cutest funniest smile-producing pics I have ever seen.
Newt Gingrich would strongly approve of that second photo. Get ’em started early.

@RedKitten: That is one beautiful little boy – almost exactly the same age as Our Bea, of whom I’d love to show photos but don’t have a flicker account.
Been there, John as have many others, of course. Watch out when diaper changing that your son doesn’t spontaneously decide to give you a Golden Shower. Believe me, it happens. Looks like a cute kid.
@RedKitten: SamKitteh is so big and handsome now! I remember nervously pacing the virtual floor the night he was born!
75.

@asiangrrlMN: I think all of us who were here remember that night, and came away all feeling like virtual godparents.
Unrelated topic: have you seen The Song of Lunch yet? Alan Rickman/Emma Thompson. I haven’t yet but am eager to, and wondered what you thought.

And yeah, I’m biased, but I think he’s just getting cuter and cuter. Of course, the sweet, sunny, stubborn personality helps. He’s going fishing for the first time with Daddy and Papa this Sunday, so I’ll have more pics soon.
