    Evening guys.

    Wanna know why I really want that job back home in NOLA? This is why.

    So I realized that I hadn’t gotten any new pics of my godbaby Maddie. So I asked my aunt and my cousin to send me pictures. These are the pics they sent:

    So what do you notice in all the pics??? Maddie appears to be walking right? So I ask my aunt and cousin “is Maddie walking”? And guess what Maddie has been walking FOR A WHOLE MONTH!!!!
    No one told me, but they see her everyday so it didn’t cross their minds.

    Since it’s an open thread, I’m just going to wax rhapsodic about my dinner. Round Table Pizza, my favorite for almost thirty years, which I have been cruelly denied since moving east in 2003. While I’m in Reno this weekend, I jumped at the chance for yummy nostalgic goodness.

    Just something about the sauce and the crispy bits at the outside edge… GAWD. I’m weeping over here.

    John, I love this blog, but you have to admit the Pens are a bunch of candy@sses. In two games, they’ve had at least four embellishments, only one of which was called — and that was a matching. That’s pathetic.

    Do the Flyers sweep this? I wouldn’t be surprised.

    And here I sit basking in the glow of victory provided by a team (ahem … club) I haven’t seen in person in 30 years and to which I have but the most tenuous physical and emotional tie and from which I receive no monetary or complementary benefit and to a win I assisted in no manner.

    The victory has profited me in no tangible way and yet I gloat, fingers firmly crossed behind my back in a superstitious ritual that would have been well recognized on the deck of HMS Surprise and a quick knock on the cupboard door protects me against hubris and the low chuckle of a 2-0 series lead.

    Fuck Pittsburgh.

    @themann1086: Bryz was just telling the truth. He stabbed his arm out in desperation and Letang just put the puck in his glove. Looks like a great save, but actually it was pure luck. I say that as a longtime goaltender.
