Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Peak wingnut was a lie.

Russian mouthpiece, go fuck yourself.

Insiders who complain to politico: please report to the white house office of shut the fuck up.

Teach a man to fish, and he’ll sit in a boat all day drinking beer.

I see no possible difficulties whatsoever with this fool-proof plan.

Roe isn’t about choice, it’s about freedom.

Sadly, there is no cure for stupid.

Incompetence, fear, or corruption? why not all three?

Motto for the House: Flip 5 and lose none.

Putting aside our relentless self-interest because the moral imperative is crystal clear.

We are aware of all internet traditions.

Hot air and ill-informed banter

It may be funny to you motherfucker, but it’s not funny to me.

It’s always darkest before the other shoe drops.

I really should read my own blog.

Sitting here in limbo waiting for the dice to roll

The truth is, these are not very bright guys, and things got out of hand.

Conservatism: there are some people the law protects but does not bind and others who the law binds but does not protect.

The worst democrat is better than the best republican.

Schmidt just says fuck it, opens a tea shop.

They fucked up the fucking up of the fuckup!

No one could have predicted…

They traffic in fear. it is their only currency. if we are fearful, they are winning.

Let us savor the impending downfall of lawless scoundrels who richly deserve the trouble barreling their way.

Does this mean that there’s going to be a movement to put Breitbart’s sainted profile on US coinage? Or, at least, rename a few airports?

Obambi, that is so damn clever, I’ve never heard that one nine hundred times before.

Hey chump, when Obama took over in January’09 the economy was shedding 800,000 jobs a month. We’ve now had two years in a row of monthly job growth. If you want to look for failure look at the Republican party, they all but destroyed our economy when they were in power. It’s not new, the unregulated free market always fails catastrophically and the government has to bail it out so we don’t go beyond the Thunderdome.

    http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2012/04/20/romney-asks-gop-delegates-to-sign-pledge-but-some-refuse/

Members of the Republican National Committee gathering in Arizona were invited to meet with Mitt Romney in private Friday and have their pictures taken with the presumptive GOP nominee, but there was a price of admission: loyalty.
RNC members and state GOP chairmen were welcomed into the private reception only after signing a form pledging to support Romney as a delegate to the national convention in Tampa.

Above is an old army propaganda film produced in ’47. It’s called Don’t Be A Sucker.

It outlines the republican strategy employed by the wealthy to keep the rubes in line. I think they called it the southern strategy, at one point. “Obama eats dog” is another “othering” dog-whistle.

I know people fall for it. We call them the 27%’ers. The problem is that they are so blissfully lacking in self-awareness that they don’t realize the rest of the country is sort of past this nonsense, already. It’s stark desperation.

He knows it. Taco’s MO is pure petty tribalism. It’d be funny that he thinks shilling this message will do anything for Romney’s prospects, if he were not so fucking annoying and repetitive about it.

This is how people read and take in info. The slogan is “Obama Isn’t Working”. What people hear or see is “Obama Working”. The “isn’t” just disappears from the slogan visually. That’s message fail number one.

The second problem is if Romney is surrounded by signs that say “Obama”. You always want to promote your own name as a candidate, not the other guy’s. Even though Obama’s name is theoretically linked to something negative, it’s still reinforcing Obama’s name. That’s a massive fail for the campaign. Fail number two.

BTW – I have mentioned this here before. I have eaten dog. Had a gig that took me to Hong Kong & a work friend asked me to look in on his parents. They treated me better than my own family! When they found out I really loved Chinese food they made sure I had many exotic meals. 5 snake stew (Although I wish he had not insisted I have the gall bladder/booze drink when he picked out the snakes.

He asked if I wanted to try dog & said they ate it occasionally. I said sure. We talked a lot about politics (this was pre-return to the mainland). Something he said really struck me “You know we fought a war where the West forced us to keep opium legal but told us eating dog was immoral”

(FreedomWorks, which is backing Liljenquist, has invested significantly in an opposition effort to Hatch.) “They’re just vicious and awful and they don’t tell the truth. And that’s been really hard for me to take,” Hatch said.

Hatch is angry at “outside groups” that are working against him? Now that’s rich. The guy whose party is driven by little more than “outside groups” saying that really takes the cake.

I bet if anyone were to dig a little into past statements Hatch has made, I’m sure they will find at least one (and probably more) positive statements about some drivel being shoved by The Armey of Dicks FreedumbWerks or the other “outside groups” that are now working against him. They brought this on themselves by courting the crazy fuckers that are taking over ‘their party’.

I see reprogramming the trollbots seems to have coincided with the artificial resetting of the polls to make it look close.

Judging from my reading the past week, I don’t think money believes that Romney is close to threatening Obama yet whatever the polls might be saying, and money is getting very nervous that Obama may win relatively easily without money’s help. That would be a disaster for money, of course, and so it puts money into something of a bind. If money doesn’t ante up with Obama fairly soon, there goes the influence. Interestingly enough, the Obama campaign seems to have made a fund raising decision that it’s better off relying on small donors this time around. In fact, money may have already missed its window.

    You complete loser. And Liar

I never denied being Kola Noscopy. Never once tried to hide it. I’m sure I’ll have to change nyms again after DougJ goes psycho or ABL arbitrarily bans me for “being annoying.” You see, Bot-troll, maintaining some BJ rep as having forever had one and only one nym is of no importance to me.

And then, after the next bogus banning, Cole will restore my commenting privileges, asking me to spare him having to deal with his ever so sensitive FP’ers by simply taking another name. It’s not complicated.

Thus are the BJ games played.

Could you provide links supporting the position that I “advocated for statuatory rape,” please? You really don’t just get to make shit up without being called on it.

Note I did not ask you to provide links to something you don’t like or with which you disagree, but in which I specifically advocate for statutory rape.
