It looks like The American Prospect may go under if they don’t raise some money.

$500k? Heh. Chump change to the Kochsuckers. I predict that in a few short months, AP will announce a “conservative cruise” where attendees can wine and dine with Conservative Thinkers, Movers and Shakers all for a tidy sum that will instantly become pure profit for the publication/website because they will have already collected the $500k thru Wingnut Welfare and the small donations that come thru their bleg will be used as seed money for the cruise liner booking.

It was a really awesome magazine when it first came out years ago, but the quality eventually declined.

I wonder what an anvil is worth and how much it would cost to send one through the mail?

I’ll give them a bit, as I used to subscribe and found it interesting sometimes. But I admit that I had forgotten they even existed.

Anywhere between $200-$1000 for the anvil and a couple Benjamins more to ship it. Expensive statement.

I work with these guys and it’s a damn shame though the anvil joke was funny. But really, Human Events just relaunched last week and with these liberal publications you always miss em more once they’re gone. It’s a mega hole no doubt. But it’s good to remember that The Prospect launched a gang of good journos (specifically women journos too) and wonks. Anyway, if you got some minor scratch to give it would mean a lot.

The back up plan is to start shilling for a war in Iran and maybe get the attention of a Facebook billionaire.

One of you FPers needs to blog on this feature article in Politico. The premise is — not making this up — that moderate Republicans in Congress are being purged by the far right and that Blue Dogs and Blanche Lincoln were purged by the far left. A masterpiece of the genre.

Their donation script seems to be broken. I’ve sent their webmaster an email. Hopefully they’ll fix it soon.

(I clicked the $100 radio button and clicked the “Donate” button, and was told that the amount I’d given was below the $10 minimum donation. Things got even more interesting when I kept trying to donate.)
