Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Incompetence, fear, or corruption? why not all three?

Not so fun when the rabbit gets the gun, is it?

I’d like to think you all would remain faithful to me if i ever tried to have some of you killed.

I’ve spoken to my cat about this, but it doesn’t seem to do any good.

Despite his magical powers, I don’t think Trump is thinking this through, to be honest.

Fuck these fucking interesting times.

We are builders in a constant struggle with destroyers. let’s win this.

I’d try pessimism, but it probably wouldn’t work.

I was promised a recession.

When do the post office & the dmv weigh in on the wuhan virus?

fuckem (in honor of the late great efgoldman)

I didn’t have alien invasion on my 2023 BINGO card.

Take hopelessness and turn it into resilience.

If you tweet it in all caps, that makes it true!

Tick tock motherfuckers!

Authoritarian republicans are opposed to freedom for the rest of us.

Accountability, motherfuckers.

When someone says they “love freedom”, rest assured they don’t mean yours.

The arc of history bends toward the same old fuckery.

But frankly mr. cole, I’ll be happier when you get back to telling us to go fuck ourselves.

They love authoritarianism, but only when they get to be the authoritarians.

Thanks to your bullshit, we are now under siege.

When I decide to be condescending, you won’t have to dream up a fantasy about it.

JFC, are there no editors left at that goddamn rag?

The latest from the shitshow fail parade that is the fact free fantasy known as “conservative media”:

The White House Visitors Office requires that an unborn child—still residing in utero—must be counted as a full human being when its parents register for a White House tour, according to documents obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.

Um, no:

Pregnant women are not required to count their fetuses as full human beings when registering for White House tours, contrary to some reports suggesting otherwise, the Secret Service said.

The Washington Free Beacon on Tuesday posted a copy of an email from White House Visitors Office director Ellie Schafer to a Capitol Hill staffer explaining the process for registering for a tour of the White House. The email indicates that pregnant women must include a baby in the count of guests if the child is expected to be born by the time of the tour, a line that some conservative news outlets say is akin to a pro-choice White House treating fetuses as people.

***

This notation device “simply serves as a placeholder for the baby once it’s born,” Milien said. “All White House guests are required to provide information at the time of their request for the tour, including for children and infants, and those expected to be on the tour once born.”

Milien said the White House has thousands of visitors every day and that people sign up for tours months in advance, often canceling and rescheduling. By having a placeholder ready for a baby-to-be, it prevents delays when people might otherwise show up for the tour with a child not previously listed, he said.

“This policy was implemented so if you want to bring your children on a tour, we can account for them,” he said.

These really are the stupidest people on the planet. They aren’t counting fetuses, they are simply saying that you should register an extra name so when you show up for your White House tour nine months later +1, you can avoid some hassle.

These people are causing me physical pain.

So the purpose of this piece is to try to convince pro-choice Democrats that Obama is a hypocrite?

I’m not even sure what point they’re trying to make (and I hate when that happens-makes me think I’ve been outsmarted). If the WH “counted fetuses as people” or whatever, wouldn’t that show that he pays the holy fetus due respect as the Christaliban demands? Shouldn’t they lie and say he doesn’t to get the anti-abortion nuts riled up? It’s not like they have any problem lying, after all.

I’d like to propose calling it the “Washington Fear Bacon.” Fear is like bacon to these people: they know too much of it is bad, but they can’t resist piling it on.

(Most Americans agree on the bacon part, but not the fear.)

I dunno, maybe it’s not a good plan. I just like names like “Breitbrats” to catch on so we all know instantly what we mean. I like bacon, too. And I’m a person, and will be in 9 months, I hope.

    @Spaghetti Lee:
Hey spaghetti Lee, fancy meeting you here. I think it does make sense to wingnuts–its like the way they are constantly finding signs that Jews really do know that Jesus is Lord, but are just denying it for their own nefarious purposes. The reasoning is that since fetuses are obviously people pro-choice people must be lying about not considering them equivalent to full born humans. So we probably hold little “birthdays” for them as soon as we pee on a stick and we deduct them from our taxes after the first missed period and we know as well as any little forced birther that they begin as a perfectly formed homunculus holding a tiny sign, the size of a dot, saying “I’m not pro-choice.” But we prefer to pretend we don’t know all that stuff. Occasionally, however, we slip up–like Obama’s grandmother announcing he was born in Kenya. Because the truth will out!

    That’s the Total Objective.

If you can’t twist it to suit your own uses, break it so no one else can use it. Rovian politics applied at the granular level dictates that anything and everything must be distilled through the political filter, and if it (whatever “it” happens to be) cannot be twisted into a shape that fulfills your purpose, it must be trashed so thoroughly that it is unusable for *any* purpose. What 8 years of Drunken Frat Boy couldn’t deliver must now be trashed like a kegger at a frat house.

More socialist tyranny if you ask me. This White House edict is a violation of the woman’s constitutional right to privacy as established under Roe v. Wade, which means that the woman at the Romney rally was right. Obama has no respect for the constitution and should be impeached, if not tried for treason. Not to mention that the world is about to end. Not because of the prophecies of Revelations, but slow death by climate change. The insanely paranoid wingnuts are pretty much right about everything. It looks like we might, with any luck, have another batch of Christine O’Donnells and Sharron Angles to kick around this year. Even if they win, they’ll have to fight harder for it, and takes money away from other races where it might finance some mischief.

This kind of willful ignorance is incredibly horrific, as he knows what medical costs really are. This is why libertarian ideas are absent from any civilized form of governance.
