Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

GOP baffled that ‘we don’t care if you die’ is not a winning slogan.

You are either for trump or for democracy. Pick one.

I have other things to bitch about but those will have to wait.

Speaker Mike Johnson is a vile traitor to the House and the Constitution.

Just because you believe it, that does not make it true.

The rest of the comments were smacking Boebert like she was a piñata.

“But what about the lurkers?”

It’s the corruption, stupid.

Find someone who loves you the way trump and maga love traitors.

Live so that if you miss a day of work people aren’t hoping you’re dead.

Hot air and ill-informed banter

Dear legacy media: you are not here to influence outcomes and policies you find desirable.

Narcissists are always shocked to discover other people have agency.

I might just take the rest of the day off and do even more nothing than usual.

Republicans are radicals, not conservatives.

Cancel the cowardly Times and Post and set up an equivalent monthly donation to ProPublica.

DeSantis transforming Florida into 1930s Germany with gators and theme parks.

We know you aren’t a Democrat but since you seem confused let me help you.

Every decision we make has lots of baggage with it, known or unknown.

Good lord, these people are nuts.

Dear Washington Post, you are the darkness now.

Impressively dumb. Congratulations.

Let’s bury these fuckers at the polls 2 years from now.

Republican speaker of the house Mike Johnson is the bland and smiling face of evil.

If anyone in the Pittsburgh general area needs a dog, my sister has one for adoption named Lil’Bear:

He’s sweet, great with other dogs, house-trained, and has been to school.

Petfinder site says it’s a Pit Bull Terrier mix. Looks like it’ll make a great dog. I’ll pass the link on to my family in Mt. Lebanon, maybe they know someone who can take him.

Cole, a question. A couple of weeks ago I mailed you and Anne Laurie with a pet help plea and AL was so kind to post it here on Saturday the 12th. I’m out here in California visiting my friend and there are some major updates regarding Hypatia’s health, including that she has an appointment with a neurologist in Dublin tomorrow at 11.30.

If we write it all up and mail to you (and Anne Laurie) would it be possible to post it? We don’t want to intrude on this thread. Oh and say to your sister that Lil’Bear looks like a great dog.

Just looked at the Facebook page. So sweet. Then I walked into the kitchen to check on something in the oven, and I caught myself singing a song from West Side Story in my head.

Could be, who knows? There’s something just out of reach, down the block, on a beach, under a tree.. Maybe tonight.

Apparently I have high hopes for Lil’ Bear!

@trollhattan: I think we went over this before and determined that it is a Blackmouth Cur mix, like Ol’ Yeller.

    Has been to school?

Damn dog probably “believes” in evolution or has figured out that “National Socia1ism” was branding to deceive the German workers.

Dog is unfit for any good Jeebofascist household.

Thank you for posting this-especially bc I know you didn’t want to bore folks with it. I just desperately want to give him some exposure because I don’t understand how he hasn’t been adopted yet. He has spent over half of his life in foster with me!

Age and weight statiatics would be helpful, along with medical history.

We’ve dropped from 3 to two dogs since this time last year, and one of the survivors is a 13 or 1 yo Big Brown Farm Dog.

Boomer is a great friend and a scary enemy, as if you were a sneak thief. But he’s white around his face, and deaf as a post. Anyhoo, email me and we’ll talk. I’m in southern WV, Lincoln county.

Okie-dokie, didn’t know he’s a repeat topic. I love big ol’ dawgs that just loll around the joint–my goal is to emulate them one day.

@J R: He was born 11/1/11, so 6+months going on 7. He is 40 lbs on the nose, all shots up to date, neutered, tested for heart worm, and finished puppy kindergarten. Housebroken and crate trained during the day, but he sleeps with me at night bc i am spineless when it comes to snuggling puppies and dogs. He is starting basic obedience 1 next week.

@Violet: I am not sure if he will become famous…I don’t think he is controversial enough and this post will be buried as soon as everyone finishes their dinners. :) He is however settled in and curled up at my feet, as usual. Sweet little pit, hound, cur, ridgeback, whatevah he is.

I’d be interested in finding out a little more. We lost our Henry during the holidays and would like another. What kind/s of dog is he? We live in Beaver County and love us some big dogs. John has my email. Get in touch.

Grew up in Pittsburgh but unfortunately don’t live there now. Oh well. In any event, overseas work travel makes having a dog really not feasible. He seems like a cutie.

Good luck with placement. A good looking dog.
I’m not having any luck placing Bud the cocker yet, and I’m starting to get desperate. My benefactor with the place to live has started to make noises about Bud and that’s not good. Anne was kind enough to post about this a while ago but so far no go.
