I’ve watched it a few times, but it wasn’t until now that I noticed Bubbles put the red hat over the dying guy’s face. (In the first season he uses that hat to identify the drug dealers for the police.)
It’s doubly great because it really highlights everything I hate about most musicals. Which I can’t really put into words except “they make me want to crawl under the furniture to get away.” Would be five stars if it’d had the real Stringer Bell or McNulty.
I love that Omar ending. He and Bubbles were always my faves. Also, too. I think I took too many meds today for my back pain. I am convinced I am high.
Hoping this is an open thread cause I have to vent. I paid my Lowes credit card bill three weeks before the due date and they assessed me a late fee. I called “customer non service” and they told me I picked up the late fee because I paid my bill “too early” WTF! I argued for ages with the woman and she just kept telling me that I wasn’t allowed to pay my bill early. I also paid this months bill “too early” (on May 31) so even though I have already made a payment for June, they say I have to make another payment before June 23. or I will pick up another late fee. I finally got the woman to reverse the late fee for the last month and I suppose I am going to have to make another payment before the 23rd. What a fucking rip off. Vent over. We now return you to your regular programing.

New higher ed budget in Michigan:
On top of that, state legislators added language about social issues, including that Michigan State University will not qualify for an increase if it follows through on a requirement that incoming students have health insurance. The budget also requires universities to file extra reports with the Legislature on the number of stem-cell lines being used in research at the institutions, and to detail their efforts to accommodate students’ religious beliefs in counseling programs (a requirement that stems from a pending lawsuit against Eastern Michigan University).
The most far-reaching restriction bars the institutions from having a relationship with nonprofit “worker centers” that protest against a Michigan business, a provision supported by the Michigan Restaurant Association, after the Restaurant Opportunities Center of Michigan picketed and sued a restaurant it accused of mistreating workers. At the time, a graduate student in social work at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor was completing a field assignment with the group.

@Litlebritdifrnt: you should have told them “you just lost me as a customer.”
I use a general credit card because I get airline mileage and always pay off ahead of time to avoid the loan shark interest rates (the wingers love to talk about how the country (democracy and capitalism) is based on the Bible and Jesus, then they embrace usury).

Today is another musical day:
It was the dark of the moon on the 6th of June in Kenworth hauling logs
Cabover pete with a reefer on and a jimmy hauling hogs
We was heading for bear on I one oh ’bout a mile out of shakey town
I says pig pen this here’s rubber duck and I’m about to put the hammer down…
@David Koch: The belief system of the average wingnut is a grotesque perversion of traditional Christianity. The “Jesus” they worship is a blue-eyed dispenser of bling to all those who follow his commandment to stone the poor and fellate the rich. A trashy religion for trashy people.
@Litlebritdifrnt: I would look through your card agreement. It doesn’t even sound legal. I cam maybe see them not giving you credit for the interest that you would have saved but an early payment? You gotta be kidding me. Also off topic, I still cannot believe banks charge ten bucks to cash a check at the issuer’s bank if you don’t have a bank account at the same bank? Why? You actually go to the bank of the issuer you provide the id and they charge you ten fricking dollars????? WTF. Also too, I have talked to three people on SS where they have their money at the B of A and B of A to me appears to be screwing them by saying they overdraw them based on a bank charge and it starts a domino effect. Banks are evil. Just evil.

Hey, a comment of mine got front-paged by Washington Monthly (Ryan Cooper sitting in for Ed Kilgore). It’s my usual nonsense I say around here, only in a different locale.

Temporarily Max McGee (soon enough to be Andy K again)
I hope in fares better than Homicide: Life In the Street Theater.

Bloody brilliant. IMO, The Wire was/is the best TV ever made. Omar was my favorite if for nothing else than that courtroom scene.
That “burner” phone was frickin genius.
Yep. I bookmarked this and I’m gonna play it ovah an ovah.

That made my week.

The SS guys need to change banks right away. The fee went up to $22 at some point. They can find a bank with no fee and will be fine.

And in other news, I guess we know who the next new Fox “News” bimbo is going to be.
Marcellus Shale, Public Dick
in the future, everything will either be a musical, or on ice.
in fact, i am working on the naked lunch, the musical on ice, hit me up on kickstarter.

Interesting new chapter in the ABL-Greenwald saga.
Greenwald is his usual gracious self in response, complete with “she who will not be named” maturity.

It is unacceptable to know jack shit about the Wire. Go forth and educate yourself young man.

@gocart mozart: @catclub: Thanks Raven and catclub. I didn’t remember that.
