Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Hey Washington Post, “Democracy Dies in Darkness” was supposed to be a warning, not a mission statement.

Consistently wrong since 2002

A snarling mass of vitriolic jackals

Fuck these fucking interesting times.

Museums are not America’s attic for its racist shit.

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

It’s the corruption, stupid.

When someone says they “love freedom”, rest assured they don’t mean yours.

Do we throw up our hands or do we roll up our sleeves? (hint, door #2)

Motto for the House: Flip 5 and lose none.

There are a lot more evil idiots than evil geniuses.

Trumpflation is an intolerable hardship for every American, and it’s Trump’s fault.

“I was told there would be no fact checking.”

“What are Republicans afraid of?” Everything.

Republicans do not pay their debts.

Second rate reporter says what?

The real work of an opposition party is to hold the people in power accountable.

Shallow, uninformed, and lacking identity

SCOTUS: It’s not “bribery” unless it comes from the Bribery region of France. Otherwise, it’s merely “sparkling malfeasance”.

When I decide to be condescending, you won’t have to dream up a fantasy about it.

“The earlier barrows took an upturned bowel form”

    EWWWWWWWWWWW

ETA: that should be ‘bowl form’ for the archaeology impaired.

    Hmm truth to power…hmm.

Ok, if African Americans were really as angry as the GOP liked to portray us, then we be slapping white people left and right. Be happy we seem to be taking most of it all in stride (civil disobedience, voting, petitioning, etc) …just steer clear of us after we’ve watched Roots, the MLK Jr story, and Rosewood. I dare anyone to be in a good mood after watching any of those.

There was a special on PBS yesterday about Chicago and the Civil Rights Movement. On special moment was when a brother they were interviewing side, “there were white people who were terrified that we were going to do to them what they did to us”.!

I haven’t seen this story get much play in the blogs I check out:

    Woodward and Bernstein are shrill!

They talk about the multitude of ways the Nixon admin engaged in insanely dirty tactics. For instance, the CIA helped prepare plans to “neutralize antiwar protesters with mugging squads and kidnapping teams”.

That’s just a tiny taste. Way more at the link.

All reflected a mind-set and a pattern of behavior that were uniquely and pervasively Nixon’s: a willingness to disregard the law for political advantage, and a quest for dirt and secrets about his opponents as an organizing principle of his presidency.

    What the fuck?

Has the names Karl Rove or Lee Atwater ever penetrated the shell-like ears or Villager mentalities of these guys? Fine, they got a Pulitzer prize forty years ago. Do they, or anyone else, seriously think that Republican senators would actually join Democrats in a similar vote today? Hell, Mitch McConnell and his ilk, not to mention the likes of Richard Mourdock (if elected), would be cheering the burglars on, as long as they were working on behalf of a Republican president. Not to mention that most of the crimes committed by the Watergate burglars would today be considered legal if carried out by government agencies on the basis of national security; no need for a coverup. Move along, nothing to see here.

    Give me a fuckin’ break…
