List of most baffling BJ posts just got a new #1.

This teeveeless old broad had to google this (are you listening, dug?) Somehow I am muddling through life with an old cell phone that doesn’t even have a proper key board. I occasionally text my kids just for the hilarity it adds to their life.
Have y’all read “Robopocalypse” by Daniel H. Wilson? He’s a Tulsa boy and a robotics engineer. Your machines with their AI are gonna get you some day. My son just emailed me that Spielberg’s movie version of the book has been delayed a year and won’t be out til 2014. It may be too late to save you.
For more serious, thought-provoking reading, I recommend Jaron Lanier’s “You Are Not a Gadget”. I just love everything about Lanier, including his dreadful dreads.
I think I’ll go out a dig some thistles. I’m real adept at spade technology. I might yell at a few clouds as well.

wait, why are you going to be hearing him? you mean in the ads on tv? some show I haven’t heard about?

Hey, the press is doing actual journalism. I know, I could hardly believe it either. According to the NYT Romney has been weaseling out of questions on whether he would counter Obama’s move on deportations.
Nice going, journos. Maybe that old dog remembers the old tricks after all.
Keith
He’ll keep yapping until someone nails him in the head with a beer can.

Bob Kerrey is a Republican with a D after his name.
He is worried about The Debt.
He wants to cut entitlements.
When he was a Senator, he held hearing about upping the retirement age for Social Security. He did say 70 years old sounded good.
He is a 1% and so much like Bill Clinton.
Read the NYT magazine article.
I guess President Obama should call Mr. Kerrey and ask him what he should or shouldn’t do next.
Kerrey was gung ho on the Iraq War.
At least with the Republican candidate, you know what to expect if she gets to the Senate.
Anyone who thinks Kerrey is going to vote like a Democrat is misinformed.
Kerry talked about arguing with the Democratic Senators about Entitlement Reform.
He doesn’t understand that the Democrats had a solid position on social programs in 19933 when FDR signed the New Deal into law.
Democrats have not betrayed that position.
Republicans have been trying to dismantle the New Deal since it came into being and that is exactly what they are doing now.
I got so angry after reading the article that I had to have myself a little rant.
Edit, spelling.

I tried to edit to say “…and dig some thistles.”, but the machine running this blog says I don’t have permission to do it. WTF?

@NancyDarling: Perhaps FYWP would be appropriate.
Hill Dweller
@RossInDetroit: I sure hope so. Despite Schieffer giving him a tongue bath for most of his interview, he did expose Willard’s unwillingness to take a stand of any importance.
Romney really is an awful candidate, but the media is working overtime to hide his glaring flaws and, ultimately, win.
Jim, Foolish Literalist
@Maude: Pretty much. He’s Ben Nelson with a McCain-like addiction to/ power over the media. He would vote for Reid, would not filibuster SC nominees, but other than that he would make us nostalgic for Lieberman. Now that he’s getting a taste of the spotlight again, he’ll probably be a leading “Democratic” concern troll for Meet the Press all through Obama’s second term, whether he wins in NE or not.
I seem to recall he was a solid voice for Bush on the 9/11 commission, but nothing specific comes to mind. I could be wrong about that.

sitting at timberline lodge swilling ale while the prog skis palmer glacier with windells action sports camp. one more day on the mountain to assure he settles in, then the rest of the week in portland.
Mnemosyne
You’re going to a Portuguese restaurant with John Malkovich?
Mino
@Mnemosyne: I thought John was going with Suri.
Steeplejack
@lojasmo:
I love Timberline! Haven’t been there in 20 years, though. Bummer.
FlipYrWhig
@Maude: In his defense, Kerrey did vote against welfare reform and the Defense of Marriage Act. I don’t think he’s anywhere near as bad as Nelson. But he’s probably only about as good as Mark Warner, plus he’s a publicity hound.

This post is like a mad lib Zen koan of insider baseball.

I don’t mind his search for linguica, but the fact that he laughs at the “joke” annoyed me.
Mino
@muddy: I think he’s flirting–he laughed before the punch line.

@Mino: Eeeeww!

Regulatory capture, indeed.
Maude
@FlipYrWhig:
Read the NYT article. I find him clearly Republican.
Bill Murray
@Mino: as long as it has a fringe on top
Darkrose
I miss the Sam Jackson and Zooey Deschanel versions.
Metrosexual Black AbeJ
@Darkrose:
Me too. I liked those.
xian
also too did you know malkovich is a right-wing nutjob politically?
Haydnseek
Ah yes, the Zooey Deschanel version. You’re standing right in front of the window and you have to ask your phone if it’s raining? John Malkovich should deliver the tomato soup, and Sam Jackson should stick to long slithering reptiles on large commercial aircraft.
