@khead:
I despise Glenn Greenwald. And I generally like Loomis a lot. But the whole thing was a dumb idea (“let’s take on a famously unhinged pedantic lawyer with lots of even more unhinged fanboys using unprovable allegations about his unexpressed opinions!”). Greenwald is Firebagger scum – indeed, is part of the original Firebagger idea. And Greenwald lies down with dogs not because he thinks he’s immune to getting up with fleas but because on the whole he agrees with those dogs. But Loomis’s chosen approach was completely misguided and 300+ comments of meaningless vituperation and circuitousness were the inevitable result.
Three of the biggest names in West Virginia Democratic politics in West Virginia will skip the Democratic National Convention this summer, once again highlighting President Obama’s rocky relationship with the state’s electorate.
__
But if Sen. Joe Manchin, Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin and Rep. Nick Rahall — all Democrats — thought pulling out of the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte this September would earn them the respect of Republicans, they’re wrong. …
__
A virtually unknown federal inmate earned more than 40 percent of the vote in the recent Democratic West Virginia primary …
I think our history books are wrong. They all say West Virginia fought on the side of the Union, but, looking at the way their politicians act, that can’t be right. They must have been a Confederate state, right?

I think ActBlue stole the idea from WaWa.
Does WaWa sign you up for a SHIT TON OF SPAM every time you buy a sandwich?
@The Dangerman: that was great, I totally stole it and tweeted it out! No attribution because I forgot where I saw it. I promise a direct quote next time.

Pretty ironic that “WAH WAH” was the first song played at George Harrison’s (and friends) “Concert for Bangaladesh” in MSG on 8/1/71.
Mittens would rather starve people. George was trying to save and feed people.

Neither attribution nor direct quoting required (or advised!). I see you’ve been RT’d at least once so far :)
I saw the new (to me, at least) Dos Equis commercial this afternoon where one of the lines was “Sasquatch took a photo of him”. Cracked me up; sadly, my writing skills lacks ability to make someone truly “uninterested” with the same pattern of writing as the DE commercials, so, please, run with it and improve it.
I was at the WV Dem Convention a couple of weeks ago. Manchin was there, gave a speech that didn’t mention Obama, and the Dem crowd was not pleased. But Manchin and Tomblin are playing to the lowest common denominator in the state and “putting the n…er in his place” will probably help them.
Cold rage.

Perhaps I should rephrase: I casually despise Greenwald, when I can be bothered to care that much.
Alright, had a great time in NOLA with the fam. Glad to be back home though. Missed the majority of the poltical news, but I’m glad. I feel a little more rejuvenated.
Mrs. Obama also joined the Cary Family YMCA SuperSkippers of North Carolina for a round of Double-Dutch jump roping, and surprised the kids–boys and girls–with her prowess.

@lamh35: No way does a girl from inner city Chicago not know how to double-dutch. No one should have been too surprised at this.

@Warren Terra: I’ll do you one better. I don’t give a fuck about what Greenwald says about anything.
Since I’m on a roll, I will mention again that K-Thug is supposed to be on Colbert tonight.
Holy cow, that should be great. Those two battling wits might break my teevee. Also, too, I hope folks caught Colbert’s extended rip on Frau Willard’s Olympics(tm) horsie thing, last week. He was in fine form, even for him.
it’s super impressive because she is totally way over 38 no?

I took Uncle Joe’s advice and set up a grassroots fundraising page, inviting only Known Liberals, of which I am friends/acquaintances with bazillions, to donate to Obama. I was just working myself into high dudgeon at my circle’s cheapassity when I discovered that many who are already on the OFA mailing list were automatically weeded out. Others kindly emailed to tell me they’d already given till it hurt. Hope so.
