Just got back from the big city, and checked my favorite wingnut’s yard sign to see what the current teahadist beef du jour was:
The obstructed part says “O.M.G.”
Apparently, it’s the same thing that has been bothering them since 2008- B-Rock ‘The Islamic Shock’ Hussein Superallah Obama.

I cannot see through the weeds, but I think that sign is uncivil, not fit for a family blog like this.
Speaking of which: My Little Pony, Friendship Is Magic club. One post a week. Check it out. The BJ hordes demand it.
Edit: SPaT would be great as a host.

Have to go spend the day with my redneck family tomorrow. Not longing forward to it.

Democrats are backing the Democratic president?!? Mercy sakes!
jl
Read this too quick. I thought it said something ending with ‘M. A.’ for ‘my ass’.
One of the first things that comes to my mind when I think of the 2008 election was a clip of an interview bearded WV gent who explain his choice with (paraphrase)
“Aih figure the white man been keep the black man down fer years an’ years. Now, we ayleck a black man, they’ll a jess get on top and do that to uss.”
Admirable stirrings of class consciousness there, but somehow, went of the rails along the way.
Edit: If this sign is from a brave WV Obama supporter out in the sticks, good on them. Glad to see it.
wesindc
I think the sign is indicative of the Republican party. Weedy sinking into the muck, and off kilter. Plus OMG Dems backing Obama! Call Brietbart, and O’Keefe to do in depth investigation. The weeds are democrat (not democratic of course) plants! Drudge siren!!!!

There’s a guy who owns property in Indiana along I94 (and US 20 before I94 was built) who has had a hand painted sign saying “U.S. OUT OF U.N!” since at least the early 1960s. He would touch up that black paint on white background piece of plywood every few years, as needed.
Last year I drove down that stretch of highway and his hand painted sign was replaced with a multi-colored full blown professionally produced billboard that had an eagle, a flag, and a copy of the constitution. It said “Get the U.S. OUT OF THE U.N.”
And it had the web address for the John Birch Society.
So I guess persistence paid off for that bagger. He got a free sign out of it.

SURE HE’S REDNECK?: O.M.G. YEAH
TooManyJens
Wait, does this mean they’ve decided to go to the convention after all?

Since we sharing pic and shizznitz, I just came across this and is made me laugh, so I’m sharing it! The kids face in this is priceless even with out the words.

Speaking of rednecks…Utah appears to be on fire as a result of target shooting: http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-201_162-57459334/thousands-evacuate-utah-wildfire/
From the article: “Herbert called on shooters to self-regulate, since legislation bars sheriffs from banning firearms.”
Apparently, the Second Amendment guarantees the right to shoot fire in a dry field.

That sign is like the political equivalent of when the fiddle part comes in on Earl Scruggs’ “Foggy Mountain Breakdown.”

I wasn’t sure whethre O.M.G was threat: Off My Grass!
Or a brag: Ima Democratic Obama supporter! (Oh My God!)
I guess obscure snarkery is not confined to blogs.

I thought John was the only person in West Virginia who was going to vote for Obama.

OT – We now have Tropical Storm Debby in the Gulf of Mexico. Could be an interesting mid week next week. Right now Debby’s heading to Texas. That might be a good thing, as a drought buster is more than welcome. Flooding and wind damage is not, however.

Isn’t “OMG” taking the Lord’s name in vain? For shame, WV redneck! For shame.
Villago Delenda Est
@redshirt:
Could have been worse. Could have been ZOMMFG.
Linda Featheringill
@Violet:
According to weather dot com, Debby has winds from 60 to 70 mph. I think that 75 mph is minimum hurricane wind speed. Debby’s gonna have to tighten up some in order to be really destructive but that can happen rather quickly.
Protect yourselves, folks.
amk
@lamh35: stolen.
Odie Hugh Manatee
@Linda Featheringill:
Headline if it gets bad: Debby does Texas!
Mr Stagger Lee
When one travels south from Seattle to Portland, on I-5(actually between Chehalis and Centrailia) there is a wingnut sign featuring Uncle Sam with some pithy right wing tripe, originally erected by a Wingnut who got deferred out of service in WWII.
Violet
@Linda Featheringill: Tropical storms can do a lot of damage too, especially from flooding. Texas could use rain, but don’t need bad flooding.

Fuck that hillbilly, just like I say fuck you to the hillbillies in my state (yes, there are tons of hillbillies in PA). Fuck ’em all.
I’m gonna eat the lovely marinara I just made over some linguini, salad from our garden greens, and black raspberry pie, with raspberries from our bushes. A nice French Pinot noir just to piss the hillbillies off and I’ll be happy. Happier than them, anyway.
And could someone tell Anne Laurie I haven’t gotten my Chris Hayes book yet?

Got my driver’s license renewed. In my new picture, I look like my IQ is equal to my age.
Bah!
Unfortunately, my image in the mirror also has that defect.
Double bah!
Maybe I should become a secret agent or something. People would assume that I’m a doddering old fool and wouldn’t take me seriously. Bwahahahaha!

@Linda Featheringill:
Happy birthday a day or two late. Driver’s license pics lie. Incessantly.
HB, also, to the bloghost. Wasn’t he about to turn (wait for it) 42?
SiubhanDuinne
@Elizabelle:
Thought it was just 41, but it’s quite possible I overlooked a year in his life.

@Mr Stagger Lee:
I’ve seen that sign since the early 60’s

This guy has been insane as long as I remember but there’s something about Obama that drove him to art.
If I could only figure out what that could be…
RSA
Were you falling down when you took the shot, John? Or is WV tilted like the bad guys’ hide-out in the 1960s Batman series?
Litlebritdifrnt
We have had no rain for weeks so I got out the sprinkler today and gave everything a good soaking. Guess what? It is now pouring down. Figures.
Amir Khalid
@efgoldman:
Surely Debby wouldn’t do Dallas.
Mnemosyne
@Linda Featheringill:
I had a driver’s license for several years where I had a huge red splotch on my forehead from a skin issue I was having at the time. I insisted on re-taking the picture at my next renewal but didn’t realize how hot it was in the DMV office, so my current picture has a HUGE white highlight where the flash reflected off the pool of sweat on my forehead.
I gave up and just let them re-use that picture for this renewal lest I end up with something even worse showing up on my forehead wanting to make its modeling debut.
cathyx
@Litlebritdifrnt: That was actually a good thing you did that before it rained. If you hadn’t, the rain would have just run off on the surface, but since you presoaked it, the rain penetrated the hard dry ground. So relax.
MikeJ
@efgoldman: Tim McCarver?
Litlebritdifrnt
@cathyx:
That is exactly what I told my husband!

@efgoldman:
It’s no better on the Nationals-Orioles game, although it is the play-by-play guy who just won’t shut up.
. . . Just checked. It’s Bob Carpenter, doing his “every single thing is intense and exciting, including ‘Live más with Taco Bell!'” voice. Ugh.
MikeJ
@efgoldman:
The first baseball game I ever went to was the Memphis Chicks at Tim McCarver field. I think they had the sense not to name their new[1] place after somebody so annoying.

I am very sorry to hear of the delay tragically affecting your free autographed book.

It’s good that he’s too lazy to mow his grass because the weeds obscure the OMG. It’s telling people he’s for Obama and the Dems.

I don’t like that Hussein thing. I done had enough a’ “Hussein”!

@efgoldman: We had Karros, and he’s an effing idiot. Mike Trout slid into second, head-first, and when the second baseman exhibited signs of some sort of minor discomfort, Karros jumped to the conclusion that he’d been spiked. Not too many players have spikes on their gloves. It turned out he’d twisted something trying to grab the ball on a bad throw.

I’ve seen some bumper stickers with the Obama circle with a slash through it with OMG next to it. My teabaggy coworkers tell me it stands for Obama Must Go.

@Baud:
No, I have a friend there who will vote for him. My mom voted for him in 2008 but she had just moved back. In the years since, it’s possible my Glenn Beck loving relatives have turned her. More than possible, since she was pretty excited about the possibility of Trump throwing his hat in the ring.

@Warren Terra:
Ah, a bitter loser. ;-)
No, I’ve not tried to email yet. But if she sent it and I haven’t gotten it yet, it could be lost.
Plus I’m anxious to start reading it. Read a lot of good reviews of it. Plus he’s my geek crush. I squeed like my pre-teen niece would if Justin Bieber showed up.

Ah, that makes a lot more sense.

@anthrosciguy: Of course, there is not the tiniest chance in hell that WV will go for Obama in the general.

@geg6: It got mailed Thursday — and I emailed you to apologize for not getting it out sooner. If it doesn’t reach you Monday, email me back, okay?

@Earl:
Earl, that looks VERY familiar. It looks exactly like the sign that some nut has on his property along Hwy 53 between Duluth and Virginia, MN. If it is the same kook, he has had signs that he occasionally updates there for as long as I can remember. I have been mildly tempted to stop and see what the sign says because you can’t read the whole thing at 65 mph and vegetation obscuring the bottom. It’s odd how often wingnuts spend all that time and effort making those signs and then don’t make sure the signs are not easily readable. I thought better of stopping to look at his sign. There was a story in a local paper a few years ago that the guy is pretty cranky and iirc UPS won’t deliver into his yard.
