I filled in for L. Joy Williams yesterday on “This Week in Blackness” aka “Blacking it Up” aka “This Week in Blackness” with Elon James White and Aaron Rand Freeman. Take a listen if you’re inclined. The first hour is the actual #TWIBradio broadcast in which you can hear me describe CNN as the “R. Kelly of news shows.” The second hour is the #AfterBlack shenanigans during which you can hear me restate the Hippocratic Oath as “Doctors have to treat motherfuckers who have broken shit.” I believe that’s the actual verbiage, if I recall correctly.

hey ABL
I remember your personal posts about what Obamacare means to you…
so, for you and all the other millions…
I’M STILL SO FUCKING HAPPY ABOUT YESTERDAY!!!
HEY YOU
“Doctors have to treat motherfuckers who have broken shit.”
Larry the Cable Guy:”Now that’s funny I don’t care who you are”

Hey ABL, I wish I’d been gotten to actually chat with you a little bit during the Afterblack instead of calling and getting my rant on and dropping the mic. But motherfuckers were pissing me off yesterday. You know how it is.
ABL
@rikyrah: yes! thank you.
ABL
@TooManyJens: indeed, i do.

“Doctors have to treat motherfuckers who have broken shit.” I believe that’s the actual verbiage, if I recall correctly.
It should be. “Primum non nocere” lacks a certain something.

That’s hilarious but even more so for those of us who have seen the Boondocks version of the R. Kelly trial…lol!

I can’t help it. After 8 years of GWB, and 4 more years of republican catterwalling like they are the masters of the universe, I just feel like the world got some lighter than it has been, and maybe the better angels of our nature got a much needed win. This song keeps earworming my self, without even hearing it played. So might as well fix that wagon. Take it away Katrina.

My personal preference is TeaNN, but I like the way you think.

Just reading a piece at NPR on business owners being split on the SC ruling on the ACA. And with the usual suspect wingnuts whining how it will be the end of the small business world as we know, and others ruminating on some of the regs, and thresholds like the 50 employee one.
But at the end, and I would guess was a progressive minded small biz owner, was jubilant.
This is a key, if an abstract notion, that always goes right on over the tiny minds of republican business people, who by and large are the majority in that world. The human element that they just can’t get their heads around, through so many layers of bullshit ideology they listen repeated day in and day out about liberalism in general, and refusal to consider anything like a human element in business, that likely has more to do with what they want, as prosperity, than any other part of the mix.
You treat people like people, with respect to their personal needs, and they perform better. And having guaranteed health care they can afford is right near the top of that list for good business, imo. This master/slave attitude permeates every level of our capitalist system, in a myriad of ways other than the happy feel of knowing you can go to the doctor when you get sick, and not have to sacrifice things like eating well, or keeping the utilities turned on.
The idea of liberty as total freedom, can surely end up the ultimate prison.

I don’t like to seem all white and stuff, but what is an R. Kelly?

Sorry ABL, but when I see TWIB, I think baseball…
