If you listen to This Week in Blackness Radio (and if you don’t, I’m not sure what’s wrong with you, man), you know Elon James White has been hyped about Jasiri X’s new white hot jam, “10 Frisk Commandments.” Here’s what Elon had to say about it:
“I often joke about how my knowledge of what to do when I’m stopped by police officers all stems from Jay Z’s “99 Problems.” A few weeks ago at Netroots Nation I was hanging out with Jasiri X and it hit me. I run up to Jasiri and say “Dude! You should flip Biggie Smalls “10 Crack Commandments!” Make the #10FriskCommand
ments! What to do when you’re stopped and frisked!” Jasiri thought for a moment and said “That could work.” I was so excited about the idea of it and how great Jasiri is as an artist I offered to direct and shoot the video in Brooklyn on the spot. He brings this issue to light with such passion and clarity that I was glad to be apart of the project. And lets be honest. his verses are FIRE.”
Check out the video and share it like it’s your job:
You’re welcome.

As a skinny arsed English White Woman, I find that it is sad the guy had to even make the video. It is brilliant of course, but I just find it sad that it had to be made. I think the worst part is the “be compliant”, that made me shudder.
John
“be compliant’ works for fat white guys getting stopped by the cops too.

In some ways, America has always been a police state.

Pretty much what LitleBrit said. I’ve never had to worry about my son being stopped by the cops or shot because of his color. I wish every parent in America could say that.
And I don’t know what to do about it.

I’ll read the post as soon as I can decipher the title.
Can I buy a vowel?

Let’s face it if you think this is bad now wait until our military comes home from these wars, and some of those guys hired as cops(mainly those of the paleface persuasion) pissed that they never truly kicked Muslim ass will take it out on Black and Latino kids just like their grand-dads did to us during Vietnam. And the growing militarization of the police and use of drones, this is going to get far worse than better.

@Brian R.: I bet ABL is losing a lot of sleep about you not reading her post, then.

@Brian R.: It’s a video directed by Elon James White (host of This Week in Blackness Radio) for Jasiri X’s new track 10 Frisk Commandments. (Jasiri X did this amazing song for/about Trayvon Martin track back in March).
The title has a bunch of tweet speak so Elon can keep track of how far it is spreading on the Twitters.

I’m posting this OT here because it fits under problems blah people have to deal with (IMO).
While tripping through commentary regarding George Zimmerman’s appearance on Faux Nooz I ran across a post where someone mentioned that Jeralyn, the vintage 2008 PUMA extraordinaire who runs the site Talk Left, thinks that GZ’s killing of Trayvon Martin was justified. That she is now a GZ apologist hiding under the guise of innocent until proven guilty doesn’t surprise me a bit, not after her stupid bullshit from the 2008 presidential primary. She has even set up a forum specifically for discussing the case. While the forum has the Talk Left name, it’s solid, wall-to-wall GZ. I notice that she loves to delete anything that she decides is unfair to GZ but lets stand some pretty amazing excuses by his supporters. She thinks GZ did very well in insHannity’s interview of him, which only confirms to me that she’s a real piece of shit.
The mind is boggled at the condensed stupid contained there.

At this point, determined PUMAs are indistinguishable from tea partiers. luckily there aren’t now and never were very many of them. Just so i’m clear, I’m not talking about the average Hillary supporter or Obama critic, but a very specific group of people.

I know enough about hip-hop to know that the backing track sounds familiar, but not enough to remember where it came from. What is it?

@Water balloon:
I know what you are saying. Jeralyn never came across as a true Hillary! supporter, not with the comments she allowed at her site back in the primary wars of 2008. She came across, loud and clear, as a PUMA with race issues. Her commentary on GZ only reinforces that IMO. I’m sure that she will argue that she’s just acting the part of a defense attorney but her comments regarding the judge, GZ, his attorney, Trayvon and his family make it more than clear that she would be lying her ass off.
It almost sounds like she is involved in the case but the horrible way she writes makes that hard to distinguish.
