I collect links to livestream webcams. One of my favorites is this one in Times Square. I usually scroll down and bring up the street cam. Looks like that ugly storm has already passed through there.
Adding, if you prefer to see some sun, Las Vegas. You have to sit through a short commercial before it loads.
Open thread if you want it.

If that camera had been there 20 years ago your title would have been: The City That Never Sweeps.

That was pretty much Storm Part the First…More on the way.

I drove around the Isle of Man with Google Maps street view. That was pretty cool.
Eastriver
I use that exact webcam all the time to check the weather outside. I used it today at around 4:30, as I was trapped in a recording studio with no windows 11 floors above 46th street.

Chief Technology Officer husband just downloaded Mountain Lion and it blew his Macbook up so that he had to reformat hard drive and restore Lion, and is now pleading for zombie Steve Jobs to come back.
Yutsano
I really should go to the store after work tonight. But sicK-lazy is kicking in.
@BGinCHI: I think we got the place worked out plus a plan. We just need to pick a day.

@Eastriver: I used to spend a lot of time in New York. I really miss it. I watch the stream when I’m feeling homesick for my old life in the NE.

@the Conster:
I’m not upgrading to Mountain Lion just yet because I have to finish playing Starcraft and I won’t be able to do that if I upgrade from Snow Leopard.

I’m fond of the Abbey Road web cam, myself.
Yutsano
@Libby Spencer: I’ll hunt for eagle cams when I get home frim work. Eaglets are cool.
dmsilev
@the Conster: I installed it this morning (upgrading from Lion) and didn’t have any issues. Took a while; maybe 45 minutes or so, but no problems.

@dmsilev:
Interesting. Husband is the most tech savvy person I know, but everyone’s got their bad hair day and this must be his.
Libby Spencer
@eohippus: Love the Abbey Road too.
@Yutsano: That would be great. Had one but the link died.
I would love if people would leave me links in this thread. I’m particularly fond of wildlife, beaches and big cities.
NotMax
Whole bunch of ’em, but some are intermittent as to being functional.

Yeah but what are you going to see in Times Square except mobs of tourists? Got one for Washington Square? Now there’s an interesting place for people-watching.
BGinCHI
@Yutsano: Roger that.
Mrs. BG says we can do almost any night, so let’s plan soon. We’ll make it work.

@NotMax: I was just going to post that mybeachcams site.

This one blew up on The Twitters last night: Brown bear catching salmon in a river in Alaska. It’s only live 6:30A-11:30P Alaska time, so it’s not yet live on the East Coast today, but they’re showing segments taped earlier.
Also bear-related. This starts off looking like a “Hey, hold mah beer ‘n’ watch this!” video, but it has a safe, and happy, ending.
