Thanks to everyone who came out for last night’s Balloon Juice meet-up at Triple Rock. Great success.
There seemed to be a lot of interest in doing another one on Friday. I won’t be able to make it, ’cause I’ve been working and I’m too tired anyway, but you can have one without me. Maybe in the actual city instead of the sticks of the East Bay.
Let me know what you think in the comments. The one thing is that we’ll need balloons or something to be recognizable without me there.

how about a Balloon Juice Readership Capture Tour 2012 T shirt? With the tour stops on the back.
Liberty60
Green balloons perhaps?

Got two more bottles of wine?

South bay anyone? And aren’t there any East Baysians going to get their umbrage on for DougJ’s “sticks” comment?

We’ll humor DougJ’s impertinence. Hell, we got an actual Front Pager out here. The only thing that could have topped that is if one of the front page critters were out (no offense Doug J, the critters are sweeties though).
Sorry no Friday action. Maybe we all need to have unofficial meet ups. A friend of mine keeps telling me I’ve gotta go to St. John’s in Sunnyvale. When ever I go to the south bay I either pho it or Giavanni’s Pizza.

@burnspbesq:
Great song, right? I loves me some Delbert and, even moreso, some Emmy Lou.

They’ve been trained to the point where they filter it out.

Why not have Patrick Kennedy fill in for you?

@DougJ:
In my collection of something like 4,500 records, “Quarter Moon in a Ten Cent Town” is one of the 20 most frequently played.

“the actual city”
And where would that be? There are many actual cities in the SF Bay Area.
Does DougJ mean “The City”?
A little respect please.
I’ll watch this thread for plan, though not sure will be over cold by tomorrow.

Berkeley is the sticks huh. I did not realize you were that much an urbanite. I live in the East bay sticks about 20 miles out and find the solitude wonderful.

@MikeJ: ah, beat me to it. its true though, I am more surprised when SF friends make it across the bridge than not.
Jokes on them, though. We have parking.

@Liberty60: beat me to it.
MikeJ
@max: I just like the fact you can make math jokes here and people get them.

As a native San Franciscan living in exile… nope. I love Berkeley a lot, but it’s not quite “home”. At least there’s good food and bookstores.

When are we having a Honolulu BJ get together.
(Hmm, on second reading I don’t like the way that came out)

Damn Burnsie, beat me to it…

@DougJ: Hey Doug – how’s about both of ’em?
That funky 70’s Delbert stuff was a revelation when I first heard it in the early 90’s. Solid Gold Plated Fool is certainly on my list of the best songs evah. Too bad there’s no chance of ever seeing it as a kararoke choice.
