Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Proof that we need a blogger ethics panel.

They traffic in fear. it is their only currency. if we are fearful, they are winning.

A sufficient plurality of insane, greedy people can tank any democratic system ever devised, apparently.

Do not shrug your shoulders and accept the normalization of untruths.

Only Democrats have agency, apparently.

Sadly, there is no cure for stupid.

Today’s GOP: why go just far enough when too far is right there?

Just because you believe it, that doesn’t make it true.

Technically true, but collectively nonsense

fuckem (in honor of the late great efgoldman)

Nothing worth doing is easy.

Not so fun when the rabbit gets the gun, is it?

The revolution will be supervised.

In my day, never was longer.

Why is it so hard for them to condemn hate?

Everybody saw this coming.

Insiders who complain to politico: please report to the white house office of shut the fuck up.

Meanwhile over at truth Social, the former president is busy confessing to crimes.

No offense, but this thread hasn’t been about you for quite a while.

JFC, are there no editors left at that goddamn rag?

Let there be snark.

Black Jesus loves a paper trail.

Being the leader of the world means to be the leader of peace.

We cannot abandon the truth and remain a free nation.

I know I’ve become cynical. I never thought I would feel so good about a president.

Obama has not done everything to my complete satisfaction, but when it comes to having an overall plan, and executing in the face of the most absurd obstacles–

I’m just downright proud of the man. It makes me sick that so many people appear unable to see past their own hate in order to perceive the quality that seems so clearly evident to me.

We have finally successfully melded our 5 pets – 2 beagles and our big male cat from NYC and the two young females from AZ. Doing surprisingly well with some dust-ups between the kittehs, the dogs are becoming quite adept at breaking up the mayhem by barreling into them.

The alpha female kitty from AZ screams like she is being drawn and quartered when the male puss messes with her though.

At first I had all the cats in a trailer – that didn’t go too well!

@MikeJ: Running for President has become brutal. It is a grueling schedule, with unending pressure and scrutiny. A young man would have a very hard time enduring it. At 65, with no real experience participating in a campaign of this length, Willard has to be feeling it.

Couple that with Willard’s past tantrums when not getting his way, and I can see him getting more and more unhinged if things continue going badly for him.

the GOP is poised to draw new attention to Obama’s foreign policy skills by releasing a 22 minute video attempting to swift-boat Obama’s claim that he ordered Bin Laden’s assassination. According to someone from Seal Team 6 and other advisers from the DoD, not only was Obama not really interested in making the decision, he actually worked hard to impair the whole operation itself.

Here’s some info. “Not political,” my Aunt Fanny.

A group of former U.S. intelligence and Special Forces operatives is set to launch a media campaign, including TV ads, that scolds President Barack Obama for taking credit for the killing of Osama bin Laden and argues that high-level leaks are endangering American lives.
    __
The OPSEC group says it is not political and aims to save American lives.…
    __
The president of Special Operations OPSEC Education Fund Inc, Scott Taylor, is a former Navy SEAL who in 2010 ran unsuccessfully for the Republican nomination for a congressional seat in Virginia.
    __
Following the film’s release, OPSEC’s spokesmen said, the group expects to produce TV spots on the anti-leak theme that will air in a number of states, including Virginia, Florida, Ohio, Colorado, North Carolina and Nevada – key battleground states.  Source
