This post is in: Clown Shoes, Romney of the Uncanny Valley

FacebookTweetEmail

First, I wanted to cross-post my thoughts on what a dick Mitt Romney is:

I’m going to vote for Obama and aside from feeling entitled to be able to purchase healthcare coverage at a rate commensurate to men, and to not get royally screwed in the rear just because I had the audacity to get diagnosed with a pituitary tumor, I don’t feel entitled to any of the shit Romney mentioned.

Sure, if I were to fall on hard times, I would like to think the government would lend me a hand. That’s what we should do for people who fall upon hard times. We help them. But if you think for one second that people who are on public assistance are happy about it, then you have never talked to or met a person on public assistance. If you think for one second that just because The Poors™ may have a cell phone, or an Xbox, or a refrigerator (A FUCKING REFRIGERATOR!), or are unfortunate enough to get gout (because apparently only rich people get gout, doncha know!), that they are living high off the hog (as they try to raise a family of four on $20K per year), then you lack empathy for Americans; you lack respect for Americans; and ultimately, you lack what it takes to be president of the United States.

Basically? You’re an asshole. And this country isn’t going to elect another asshole. Eight years was enough.

Second, I’m watching The Rachel Maddow Show, and she just said that the previously unsourced video in which Romney talks about scouting Chinese factories for places to make whatever bullshit he was making back in his Bain days came from the same source as today’s videos. Remember that video? I posted it, then took it down, then posted it, then took it down again.***

Just now, David Corn told Rachel Maddow that the source of the videos (there are rumors circulating that the source was a waiter at the fundraiser — just goes to show, you probably shouldn’t shit on an entire class of people when members of that class of people are serving your dumbass (pun intended)) apologizes for impersonating her on YouTube.

Corn also just said that the fundraiser took place on May 17, 2012 at the home of private equity muckity muck Marc Leder, who made headlines when he threw a sex party in 2011. (That ought to go over well with the values voter crowd.) Leder is a bit of a playboy and also >throws wild parties in St. Bart.

Gawl, I love today.

This Mittastrophe is epic.

***Karoli over at Crooks and Liars posted the video, and you can view it there.

Yes. That should go very well.

It only confirms that they were very smart to withhold their full support.

Dunno where that leaves the GOP…it might have to split in two…the fundigelical party and the rich asshole party. This leaves a mass of just stupid racist idiots adrift.

OT, but this is delicious. These things first emerged on Kos – I saw the threads and thought them cool, then this happened:

I am loving this! Mitt is the perfect representative for the a$$holigarchy.

I don’t know which comment bothers me more — but when he said that he gave away all of his inheritance so therefore he earned everything the old fashioned way I think he was speaking sincerely. It is classic privilege. He went to the finest schools–debt free and didn’t have to take out loans and work multiple jobs like the rest of us. He had contacts and introductions and “ins” that most of us never have and yet he completely ignores how his privilege gave him advantages.

The scandal isn’t the message. It SHOULD be, but let’s face it, the message has been out there. The scandal is Romney caught on tape talking with his tone dripping with contempt and hate about the poorer half of the country. Not the words, the tone. You can say all poor people are lazy in this country and just barely get away with it as a politician, but you have to pretend you’re saying it for their own good when you do.

    @Matt McIrvin:
At this point, how could they prove it’s a fake? It looks like him and sounds like him on a lengthy tape. Nobody’s going to believe it’s not him even if the tape IS a fake.

Let’s face it, we all know that they all share Mitt’s contempt for the “47%”, but up until now it has been left it surrogates like the odious Garry Bauer and Rush Limbaugh to push the line directly, while the actual politicians have resorted to more subtle dog whistle messages. Now, the entire party has “we hate poor people” tattooed to their foreheads.

My Mom and Dad are part of that 47%. My Dad is a WWII vet. Raised four kids, did the best he could. My Dad had to fight for a disability retirement from the state after a debilitating illness directly connected to his job. He spent his life savings doing it. So now, my Dad, 91 and my Mom, 89 live in subsidized housing on a small disability pension and reduced Social Security. My Dad, who is legally blind, also gets a lot of help from the VA. So they are the moochers and lowlifes that will never vote for rMoney. They feel they “entitled” to the basics of life, food, housing and healthcare.

I went to the “refrigerator” link and listened to the Daily Show piece on a bunch of assholes whining that the poor in America are only whiners because they have refrigerators! and microwaves! and telephones!

And there’s this weird undertone to all that. It’s more than the belief that if you’re “lucky” enough to have a refrigerator then you don’t deserve any help, though that’s offensive enough all by itself. What’s weirder is this freakish vibe I get that they’re resentful that poor people have refrigerators at all. These people really believe that poor people should suffer. They deserve to suffer. They’re pissed off that any poor people have fucking refrigerators. I think they’re pissed off that poor people–some of them, anyway, the lazy, unworthy fucks–even get to eat every day. I think they resent that homeless people sometimes find bridges to sleep under, where they can be out of the rain, or steam grates to sleep on to keep warm (job creators paid for the generators that make the steam that these fucking, mooching assholes luxuriate in when the weather is 14°!).

Sometimes I wonder what it would be like if these shitstains spent as much time being appalled at the thought that dickwads like Rmoney have fucking car elevators in their houses when there are people who can’t afford to eat every day in this country. Or how about the fact that this asshole who threw the party Rmoney went off on his screed at spent $500,000 to rent a beach house for one month. Or how about the, what was it, a $70,000 tax deduction of his wife’s dressage horse or something? (And, shit, I’d never even heard of dressage horses until two months ago, and I feel like I was better off for it, so there’s yet another way Mitt Rmoney has made my life just ever so fractionally worse.) And, Lord knows, there are a thousand other sickening excesses that these entitled fucks wallow in every day, but Bill O’Reilly and Laura Ingraham and Niell Cavuto or whatever that asshole’s name is don’t seem to think that’s the least bit shocking. Oh, no. No, no, no, it’s poor people with refrigerators that offend their tender sensibilities.

These people make me want to beat them to death with their own microphones. And that pisses me off, since I really don’t want to hate anybody. And, ironically, that makes me hate them even more.

Now would be the time for someone to post a graph showing just who the 47% “deadbeats” are … I’m thinking it’d include a family of four living on 60-70,000 a year, keeping up on their mortgage, two cars and boat payments. Bet that would be the eye opener for those not already enraged.

    Goodbye, Mr. Romney.
We don’t want to see you anywhere NEAR the White House.
It is going to be a lot more than 47% of Americans who vote against you.
You are not only cynical and vacant, you are frightening.
Go back where you came from.

Bitch be the ruin of that site.

Very true. Markos has only himself to blame on this, he banned her sorry ass once, then had a weak moment and unbanned her. If he’d stuck to his guns, the videos would have “stuck” at Teh Orange since she and the rest of the nutjobs in her crew wouldn’t have been around to HR the material into oblivion. Oh well, to paraphrase Otter from Animal House “You fucked up, you trusted us.”

    And yes, she’s a firebagger.

So when is Mother Jones going to follow the standard they demanded of the Acorn videos and release the full video?

    @WWStBreitbartD:

I think my favorite part of the videos are the questions from conservatives. They worry, conservatives, how Romney will win when for three years people have been told “‘we’ll take care of you'” What arrogance.

I paid a higher rate in federal income taxes than Mitt Romney last year, and I’m willing to bet I paid a higher rate than most of the people in that room. I don’t add charitable contributions to my tax rate, like Romney does, because I’m not a fucking idiot, and I still paid more than him.

How dare you talk about half the country like that? Where do you get off?

IDG why everyone’s calling this the “47%” video and not the “Mitt Romney thinks people aren’t entitled to food” video.
