Is there a legal way to livestream NFL games? My mom is in Connecticut and wants to watch the Steelers game, and there is no sports bar nearby carrying it. Any ideas?

    Can’t help you with how she can watch it, but you should be able to stream it on radio through WDVE (www.dve.com). Your hero Tunch is on the broadcast team.

    Man, there was a great site last year and I saw every game I wanted… Unsurprisingly however, the feds shut that party down sometime in the offseason…

    I’ve scoured the net this season to no avail.

    The feds cracked down big time last season, and it was about impossible to get a live stream, and if you did find one, it would likely be shutdown after a few minutes. Don’t know about this year, but am not really interested in football these days.

    I don’t actually know, but I’m pretty sure they do. It’s all Steelers, all the time on their website.

    DVE isn’t what it used to be. I don’t listen to them as much as I used to. Their playlist is pretty damn tired and firing Jimmy Krenn wasn’t a move that went down well with a lot of people. Especially when they had to get three people to replace him, one of them being Scott Paulsen.

    ETA: Just went to their website and, yes, they stream it.

    So, Schiano is doing this then.

    What I see at this point is a spot where the D can just wail on the O line (which has to stand stock still) with what amounts to no meaningful penalty. The D is already lost 99.9999999% of the games from this situation, what does it matter a 5 or 15 yards
    additional?

    And when it’s like today, it’s the offense’s choice to take that penalty (oh boy) or just let the clock run out. Time to rewrite a rule or two.

    I think we’ve got ourselves into the situation that a premeditated penalty can be committed for which there is no punitive damage. What a deterrent that is!

    As bad as that was, the end of the Jets/Dolphins game made me feel a little better. Miami tried to call their timeout and ice the kicker, successfully, but the play still went on resulting in a Miami blocked field goal. The timeout having been called, the Jets got a do-over and made the field goal. I have no rooting interest, but it warms the cockles of my heart whenever the stupid icing ritual backfires.

    @geg6:

    I don’t think so. You can probably get pre- and post-game programming, but the NFL (in conjunction with Sirius/XM) reserves the rights for on-line and out-of-market broadcasting. There’s been, for years now, a big disclaimer about this on the WTMJ AM 620 (Packers’ flagship) site.

    If you want to legally listen to (radio) game broadcasts on-line, you can buy the package from NFL.com.

    Though, to be honest, the Whitecaps should be more of a challenge than Colgate.

    I wish your mom luck, but I live in Connecticut and I couldn’t watch the Patriots last Sunday. That would be the NEW ENGLAND Patriots. Here in New England. Flippin’ Comcast only carried the Giants game. I hate Comcast…
