Hey Washington Post, “Democracy Dies in Darkness” was supposed to be a warning, not a mission statement.

Well, whatever it is, it’s better than being a Republican.

Maybe DougJ has a more cogent take, but I don’t have a whole lot to say about The Master. It was typical PTA: a hell of a ride, and like There Will Be Blood, I need to see it again to really appreciate it. I really liked the scene that featured Ella Fitzgerald’s performance of Get Thee Behind Me Satan, but I can’t find it anywhere that I can embed here. If you have Spotify, here it is.

More tiny penis envy from the Limbaugh set.

    Obama has a “massive wad”.

It’s trick-play day in the NFL. Two Bengals touchdowns, and a Juicebox Jesus first-down run on a fake punt.

I don’t think the point was that you literally are not Pauline Kael — most of us assumed that — but that it isn’t much of a review.

Just saw that on someone’s FB page, and simultaneously heard it on NPR. So sad. They’re so vulnerable, those little guys.

Impressive from a craftsmanship standpoint, but I felt that as a story it was a pointless exercise. There didn’t seem to be any jeopardy for any of the characters other than whether they’d continue to associate with each other. I’m all for ambiguity but it’s not a good sign when I don’t really care what happens to any of the characters at the end. Certainly not as engrossing as There Will Be Blood.

If you see people registering voters, have video ready. This kind of thing is happening. Like I keep saying, they can’t win if they don’t cheat.
