The Nineteenth Amendment passed in 1920, bitches got the right to vote, and, according to Mississippi Teabilly and Stockholm Syndrome victim Janis Lee, it’s been all downhill ever since.
She thinks only men should get to vote because women are evil, mean, diabolical creatures who fuck it up for the good white men who are supposed to run this country, goddammit.

Wow… just wow. Well, as a guy, I guess I can safely say that not all stupidity resides in the male of the species.
LT
So, not even any links to the story? Balloon Juice is a just an aggregator for ABLC now?
Marvelous.
Corner Stone
Women! Sheesh!
YellowJournalism
Well, I hope she stands by her principles and doesn’t cast her vote this year! Maybe she should discourage her fellow female teabaggers, too, and ask her male teabagger friends to sit out in solidarity.
RedKitten
And of course, were women not allowed to vote, Janis Lee’s only role in the Tea Party would be pouring the men their tea and then leaving the room while they talk politics.
Cognitive dissonance, thy name is right-wing.

@LT: OH GOD, MUST WE MAKE ALL THESE CLICKS?! HAVE THEY KNOW INKLING OF THE INCREDIBLE SUFFERING THIS ENTAILS?!

I can’t count how many times I’ve read some variation of “Democrats only win because women vote for them.” Or people who aren’t white. Or people who aren’t Christian. Or poor people. Or gay people. Or people who go to college. Or people from the East Coast. Or six-fingered Filipino hunchbacks with brown eyes. Whatever demographic you’re currently bitching about.
Oddly enough, you never hear “Republicans would never win without the white Christian male vote.”
Short Bus Bully
Get that woman a burkha!
Mnemosyne
Funny story: my friend’s sister moved from California to Mississippi a few months ago when her boyfriend decided to move back home and she went with him. She has registered to vote there and will be voting for Obama because she turned the Republican National Convention on for about 15 minutes and was horrified at the open racism on display.
It gives me some comfort to know that at least one white woman in that state will be countering this jackass’s vote.
japa21
Is this the female equivalent of the self-hating Jew?

@Mnemosyne:
I don’t think I could love anyone enough to move to Mississippi for them.
Lurker
@ABL – a cartoonist drew her thoughts on women like that…
AkaDad
All my ex’s were women.
Just sayin’
Chris
@Mnemosyne:
It’s kind of a shock when it hits you in the face the first time.
Don’t know what her upbringing in California was like, but speaking for myself I’ve found that growing up in a bubble of liberal multicultural (and in my case, multinational) suburbia actually made the Republican Party MORE appealing – in that you figure “come on, no one REALLY believes black people are the cause of all our problems, or all Muslims are terrorists, or poor people should starve to death in the streets anymore. Those liberal activists are just being shrill and ridiculously over the top.”
Then you read wingnut blogs, you read the comments section of wingnut blogs, you watch Republican politicians, you read up on their history, and you meet actual hardcore red-state voters and it eventually dawns on you that yes, every last one of them really IS that fucked up and more, the shrill people had a point, and you should probably vote for them after all.

@LT: A few weeks ago, John hisself told us that he’d instructed Imani to link to her site.
You might want to know wtf you’re talking about before opening your piehole. OTOH, you might just be one of those who whines over every ABL post.
Jerzy Russian
Is this a real person? Are we sure it is not DougJ in drag trolling?
YellowJournalism
@Jerzy Russian: No way. DougJ would be much prettier.
Spatula
@LT:
Yes.

As far as the story which is the subject of this post: It’s about time someone said it.
Wally Ballou
@RedKitten: A real-world Serena Joy, that one.

1920? You guys were very late to a couple of parties, hey? We wimins got the vote in 1908, down under. ;)
Women such as she frighten the living daylights out of me.

@Lurker: Well said.
Yutsano
@Debbie(Aussie): Well that’s when the 19th Amendment passed. Some states allowed women to vote as early as 1869. One of them, believe it or not, was Utah.
Mnemosyne
@Mark S.:
Oh, there’s entire levels of fuckedupedness at work here. But at least she’s planning to vote, and she’s voting for Obama.
@Chris:
Not only was she born and bred in Southern California, but her boyfriend is black and she’s not, and she was NOT prepared to run into any of that kind of bullshit in the year 2012. So, yeah, she’s become a little radicalized.
Debbie(Aussie)
@Yutsano: Thanks for that info, still a learner regarding US history. We only became a country, politically, in 1901.
Yutsano
@Debbie(Aussie): We are (occasionally) not always fuck-ups. :)
BTW I still stand by my theory that eventually we’ll have a very similar universal health care scheme to yours.
Debbie(Aussie)
@Yutsano: That is my very large and wishful hope for you all. Our medicare has its faults, but it is universal.

@Mark S.:

Married a New Englander and we picked a place in the middle.
