Folks- we need pictures of your adorable furbabies- Beth has been working overtime to get the calendar out in time for the holidays, but we need more pictures. I’ll just quote Anne Laurie on how to send your pictures in:

If you want your pet’s picture to appear in the 2013 Calendar, send it to Beth Salman at [email protected] . Deadline is the end of October, so that Beth can do the hard work to have the finished calendar available for all your holiday shopping needs at the beginning of Decembe

Hurry up and get your pictures in so your pets can be front and center in the Pets of Balloon Juice 2013 Calendar.

    Yeah, specs would be good: that 1024×768 cameraphone pic that looks great on Facebook may not do so well in print. (Unless theres a collage of them.)

    Any particular specs? Size, quality, no humans allowed, etc?

    In case Beth doesn’t get a chance to respond — she is a true professional, so “the more (pixel) definition the better” was the only parameter she specified.

    If you missed last year’s calendar, there are thumbnails of every month at BJ’s CafePress store, for inspiration!

    I got a couple of good pics of two of my cats. Not sure about the file sizes, but I sent them anyway because hey, Elwood and Phoebe deserve all the attention they can get. And they know it.

    The World’s Most Perfect Cat, who was in last year’s calendar, died peacefully in his sleep of a brain tumor a few hours ago. Please give all your cherished pets an extra hug in his memory.

    @Corpus Christy: The same from here. I didn’t think my cat was going to pass on this year, but after it happened it was nice to think of her photo on other people’s walls.

    I have to get cracking with the new cat photos. She likes appliances.

    Ima gonna do this this year. I got some cute cat photos I can submit. On a sad note, my cat Genghis (a very handsome blue-eyed Siamese) was in a run in with some animal (he’s an outside cat) the vet amputated one of his hind legs yesterday. They say other than the leg, he will be fine. I will scan some four-legged versions soon. Poor poor Ghengis Khan.

    @jnfr: i do have last year’s photos. if you want me to reuse them, send me an email at the calendar yahoo account. i’ll need to know what email address and name you submitted the photo under and what your pet’s name (and species, just to be safe). i can use that info to find the photo(s).

    Captain Howdy and Thresher–I don’t have the calendar at hand, but the picture was of a gorgeous Maine coon cat lying on a blue and white cushion. Thanks for the condolences (and mine to both of you); only pet owners know what it’s like.

    They look so good even as they eat and roll in dead and disgusting things…
    Fortunately, it will not be a scratch and sniff calendar, right?

    I rarely comment here, but the calendar is for a good cause, so I sent in a picture of our new kitty Francis. We found him living under a shipping container earlier in the month, and once we washed all the fleas and mud off of him we realized he’s a handsome little guy.
