Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Of course you can have champagne before noon. That’s why orange juice was invented.

Fuck these fucking interesting times.

Give the craziest people you know everything they want and hope they don’t ask for more? Great plan.

Sadly, media malpractice has become standard practice.

It’s always darkest before the other shoe drops.

Since we are repeating ourselves, let me just say fuck that.

This must be what justice looks like, not vengeful, just peaceful exuberance.

Imperialist aggressors must be defeated, or the whole world loses.

Come on, man.

The real work of an opposition party is to oppose.

The arc of the moral universe does not bend itself. it is up to us to bend it.

Live so that if you miss a day of work people aren’t hoping you’re dead.

Prediction: the gop will rethink its strategy of boycotting future committees.

We can’t confuse what’s necessary to win elections with the policies that we want to implement when we do.

The unpunished coup was a training exercise.

They are lying in pursuit of an agenda.

These are not very smart people, and things got out of hand.

When I was faster i was always behind.

Well, whatever it is, it’s better than being a Republican.

Fear or fury? The choice is ours.

Tick tock motherfuckers!

The lights are all blinking red.

The words do not have to be perfect.

I’ve spoken to my cat about this, but it doesn’t seem to do any good.

From somewhere on the back burner comes this report: Syrian rebels may take the Damascus airport soon, which would cut off the Assad regime’s resupply flights from Russia.

Love that doggie! My Tiki does the same poses.

Somewhere during the last election, I began to think of Ed Rendell as not so much of a liberal and/or maybe there was something hidden from his real desire to see the president re-elected. Today I found this article.

What a sweetheart, she loves the pillows as do mine.

Our black cat is such a princess my husband had to put a pillow on his nightstand for her because she didn’t want to sleep with the rest of the rabble on the bed.

The Freepers are already fighting about whether Ted Cruz is eligible for the presidency. They think that the Republican leadership should never back off on anything. They want the national conversation to be about (brown colored) moochers. They want to to vindicate Akin and Mourdock by running more of the same.

I was worried about them wising up and softening their rhetoric. I just don’t see it.

I’m reading a fabulous book, Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk. Has anyone else read it?

It’s fiction, but a great statement about the screwed up patriotic thing we have going here in the US, young kids being sent off to war, being GOP cannon fodder, family, wealthy vs. poor — I guess I love that it speaks to everything that’s ailing in our country, but not in a way that gets me down. It’s not light reading, but not heavy either. Just right, in the middle.

Andrew Breitbart’s house in Brentwood (west LA) is up for sale. Yours for a mere $2m. Wingnut welfare is lucrative.

@The Red Pen: That’s good for Dems in 2016 and beyond so let them keep running to the extreme Right.

How are they going to run Cruz as Prez if they want to go after Brown/Black people? Isn’t Cruz a Brown person?
