When will Chip Kelly formally announce his future failed stint in the NFL?

Raven
They were saying on the radio that Kelly doesn’t run traditional position drill practices. They play, film it and then do skull sessions.
4.
The Dangerman
If Thomas had turned around and blocked on a play against Stanford, they are probably playing Notre Dame. Alabama should send him thank you cards.
5.
Raven
Big stop.

Go Ducks!
Hopefully they won’t give it away…

Dee Loralei
Sheesh. I may have to go watch Rachel instead of football.

It does look like we are about to see a thorough ass kicking

The Czechs upset the Finns at the Women’s Under-18 world ice hockey championships. The Swedes didn’t look that strong, either. With some of the results at Four Nations and at last year’s top level world championships, it’s distressing to see that the the Swedes and Finns are losing ground relative to the US and Canada. The rest of the world is catching up to them, leading to some good competition for bronze medals, but the blowouts at the top are getting worse.
I’m kind of dreading the Sochi Olympics next year. The IOC is itching for a reason to kill women’s hockey at the Games and we need for someone to step up and give a challenge to the North Americans. Sure, it means the committee is a bunch of fucking hypocrites, since they don’t whine about the equally egregious lack of balance in basketball, but that won’t stop them.

Mr Stagger Lee
@Cacti: Basically you are seeing the last of the powerful Oregon Duck team, if the reports of NCAA sanctions are true. Chip Kelly doing the Pete Carroll shuffle.
11.
Rex Everything
People put down the Pac 10 (12) too much. They’ve always seemed pretty good to me. (I live in Jersey & definitely do not have a dog in this fight.)
12.
Eric U.
@Rex Everything: they have been pumping up the SEC against everyone else, but the truth is the SEC teams look comparable to the teams they play from other conferences. Thank you Louisville
13.
Zifnab25
@Eric U.: SEC has had a solid five or six years. They pick up Heisman trophies, put their teams in championship games, and win when it counts.
I think the Big 12 would look more respectable if OU and K-State didn’t have a habit of choking in the post-season. Beyond that, there just isn’t enough intra-conference circulation to really get a bead on where different teams stand. A lot of schools – like Baylor and Louiseville – can have break-out seasons that the ESPN guys just don’t notice because they’re too busy fapping to Tim Tebow.
14.
Cassidy
@Zifnab25: The big difference is that in any given year a Louisville or Oklahoma or Texas may be an outstanding team, but they may or may not play against decent competition. IN the SEC, the top teams know they will play at least one NC contender, maybe 2 or 3.

K-St trying to make a game of this early on. Still some time in the 2nd Q for Oregon to run.
16.
Mr Stagger Lee
Who to root for? A school from the most insane TeaParty state and Westboro Baptist or Phil Knight-i-make money-off Bangladeshi-slave-labor-U?

I always wonder who that Taco Bell commercial is supposed to be selling to.
Everyone in that house hates that selfish fucking prig who shows up in the blazer with the TB burritos.
18.
Mr Stagger Lee
Oregon saw that coming.

Shazam Ducks!!

46 seconds to score?
Hell, I’m already in the taxi by 46 seconds.
You go Ducks!
21.
Linus Pickle
Phil Knight sure is getting his money’s worth out of the Ducks.
22.
Corner Stone
Team speed for the Ducks.
They must have 40 guys that run a 4.4 or better 40yd dash.
23.
AHH onna Droid
@Fluke bucket: Im loving it. Lots of oxes getting gored.
The word all over is that this was Kelly’s last game as Oregon’s head coach. Where do you think he ends up? Will he make it in the NFL, or will he be like Spurrier and return to the college ranks, maybe to replace whoever replaces Lane Kiffin.
25.
Rachel in Portland
@James E. Powell: TCU, and then he’ll go back to the Dillon Panthers.
26.
Villago Delenda Est
Well, it’s all over but the Chip Kelly speculation, which will of course continue over the weekend.
27.

Some guy saw me standing outside my Phoenix-area hotel in a maroon hoodie and assumed my sad expression meant my team had lost the Fiesta Bowl. That was a little surreal.

Oregon has too much speed.
