Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Seems like a complicated subject, have you tried yelling at it?

It’s all just conspiracy shit beamed down from the mothership.

Fani Willis claps back at Trump chihuahua, Jim Jordan.

Imperialist aggressors must be defeated, or the whole world loses.

We’ve had enough carrots to last a lifetime. break out the sticks.

I conferred with the team and they all agree – still not tired of winning!

The GOP couldn’t organize an orgy in a whorehouse with a fist full of 50s.

Let’s not be the monsters we hate.

Republicans want to make it harder to vote and easier for them to cheat.

Black Jesus loves a paper trail.

Meanwhile over at truth Social, the former president is busy confessing to crimes.

He imagines himself as The Big Bad, Who Is Universally Feared… instead of The Big Jagoff, Who Is Universally Mocked.

Impressively dumb. Congratulations.

“And when the Committee says to “report your income,” that could mean anything!

“Cheese and Kraken paired together for the appetizer trial.”

Is it irresponsible to speculate? It is irresponsible not to.

Give the craziest people you know everything they want and hope they don’t ask for more? Great plan.

“I never thought they’d lock HIM up,” sobbed a distraught member of the Lock Her Up Party.

The willow is too close to the house.

There is no compromise when it comes to body autonomy. You either have it or you don’t.

We’re not going back!

But frankly mr. cole, I’ll be happier when you get back to telling us to go fuck ourselves.

I really should read my own blog.

Happy Dog Rescue Update – Lucy (also: Freckles)

Lucy’s living the good dog life! From Lucy’s foster mom:

Just a little update on Lucy. On a day to day basis her personality just comes out more and more.

She is a fantastic listener. She will sit immediately and look up at me when I go to put on her leash. Lucy will sit when I put her food down and will wait until I tell her it’s ok to eat.

When she knows I’m not happy about something, which is so rare. For instance, if I tell her to go in her crate (which by the way she does not need to go in one. She is the perfect angel when left alone outside of crate. I just can’t always leave her out when I leave because of my dog business). So she sometimes won’t go in and I will say Luuuucy come on. And she turns over on her back with her tail wagging. Put it this way. She knows how to work me.

We are working on shaking hands. But that is not working so well. I think she is pretending she doesn’t know how so she can get more treats.

She loves her pal, Hal who so kindly drives across Los Angeles to walk her a couple times a week. (Thank you Hal)

Last night I was sitting on the floor cleaning out a clothes cabinet. Lucy, as usual, likes to lay on my lap. I kept telling her “not right now. I have to fold clothes”. I finally got her off me and she went to my pile of clothes and started digging through them (like who cares what you are doing. I’m more important) and than she walked over after that and laid on my lap. Darn. How can I say no to her. Needless to say my clothes are still on my floor and I just held and kissed her head.

She did have a jealous moment yesterday. My friend came over and she totally went to him. He loves pits/dogs. He was able to pet her. Than he sat on floor trying to get her to come over. She didnt go. So I sat next to him and she did not like him being next to me. She went on this innocent barking rage. No growling. Just non stop barking. She did not want him near me. She’s my security dog. Ha ha. And went I got up. She was fine. Stopped. I told her none of that missy.

Oh and inside the house her tail never stops wagging. If she is laying there and I just look at her in silence she wags her tail.

Lucy is fantastic. I love Lucy.

Thanks everyone for caring.

And Freckles is making such good progress, he’s working the treadmill and even making new friends. (I don’t have a Facebook account but the links worked for me.)

Miracles happen — with enough hard work!

Just left a comment in the previous thread. I watched the Freckles video and he looks amazing compared to just a couple weeka ago. Wonderful work from all those involved with his rehab.

I got the Freckles updates from Noah’s Ark and I was amazed. Freckles’ story had haunted me for days. I couldn’t stop thinking about him and it was eating away at me. To see him on the road out of his nightmare made me cry, but this time it was with some happiness.

And fantastic to see Lucy doing well too thanks to the efforts of another dedicated group of rescuers. Last I heard there were still some potential medical issues with her. Any update on her condition?

    @MattR:

    Any update on her condition?

Last I heard, the tumors removed from her rump were cancerous, but the oncologist recommended ‘watchful waiting’ (and sunblock) as the most appropriate therapy. One advantage to being a dog, Lucy’s not going to worry about unknowable futures!

@Anne Laurie: Thanks. Even if things turn for the worst, I am happy that Lucy got to experience joy and love for at least part of her time on this planet.

OMG, Freckles looks so good. He’s getting better; the doctors and staff were so right in their decision to save him. He’s feeling loved and it shows. It’s all fantastic.

(Not that Lucy’s story isn’t as impressive as Freckles. Hope her future holds a happy forever home real soon.)

    I love happy endings!

To think of all the potential love… that gets wasted.
