Sigh. I feel horrible because I honestly don’t give a flying fig about the AP, the IRS or Benghazi. The latter is easy for me because we all know the right is full of it. The IRS issue seems to be more nuanced than targeting poor wittle right wingers, and in the end, the expectation that POTUS should know what some middle managers in Cincinnati are doing is beyond nonsensical.

As for the AP story, I’m bugged by the use of the world spying when this was done via a subpoena, and the press’ concern seems to be entirely based on the fact that they are the subject of the search.

Oh well, I’m going to meditate and try to rewire my outrage meter, and hopefully by this time tomorrow I’ll be posting on Dailykos calling for Holder’s resignation.

Couple of things meriting a note.

    Say what?

A prominent Japanese politician has described as “necessary” the system by which women were forced to become prostitutes for World War II troops.

Osaka Mayor Toru Hashimoto said on Monday that the “comfort women” gave Japanese soldiers a chance “to rest”.

On Tuesday, Japanese ministers tried to distance themselves from his remarks.  Source

    Fools on the hill.

A construction company has essentially destroyed one of Belize’s largest Mayan pyramids with backhoes and bulldozers to extract crushed rock for a road-building project, authorities announced on Monday.

The head of the Belize Institute of Archaeology, Jaime Awe, said the destruction at the Nohmul complex in northern Belize was detected late last week. The ceremonial center dates back at least 2,300 years and is the most important site in northern Belize, near the border with Mexico.  Source

Was it ABC that edited the email, or was it the Republicans who gave it to them? That’s what Jay Carney is suggesting:

I think the entire e-mail, the report I read showed the entire e-mail, and what it showed is Republicans who were leaking these press, these e-mails that had been shared with Congress didn’t just do that, they decided to fabricate portions of an e-mail and make up portions of an e-mail in order to fit a political narrative

It certainly looks as if the actual email has been doctored for one reason or another.

The proud happy dog in the cartoon has the exact face my puppy has had on since she found out she could get out of the fence on Sunday. I spent 2 hours patching a place below one part of the fence, which had evidence of digging. It had washed out some in recent rains, giving access. Or egress? Thought I had the problem solved, a lot of the fence has chicken wire at the bottom already from when the big dog was a pup.

But still she kept getting out. Then she’d bark to get my attention before running off. “Look what I did, Mommy!! I’m proud of myself, and will now terrorize the neighborhood to celebrate!” I tried the nice voice, the stern voice, offering rides and treats, but she had found the world! She went to all the houses nearby with dogs and started shit up with all of them through the fences. I tried the old ploy of sitting down and pretending to cry so she would come. She came, but stayed just out of arm’s reach, canny bitch. I would just let her come home on her own (safe area) except for her getting all these neighbor dogs worked up.

On mothers day I was running around my neighborhood on streets and through back yards at midnight trying to catch her. Barefoot. I thought of how I have mocked John for running the streets in his robe and slippers, and how much worse I apparently was. Sorry, John! My son called to wish me a happy during the dogquest and all I did was whine and moan, sorry Son!

It turned out she was going over the fence in the corner – she just scrambled up and over it. It’s 4′ high! Crazy Gracie. Next project will apparently be better fencing.

I still need one new bed but so far have planted tomatoes, beans, zucchini, yellow squash, peppers and sweet potatoes. In the fall I’ll plant beets, kale and what ever. My guide has been Michelle Obama’s book. It’s not only informative but as a coffee table book, it incites any visiting neighbors who might not agree with her policies.

And I only used Sullivan’s blog (yes, i know how you guys feel about him and I’m not a fan either) as a model because my understanding is that his blog has a very large audience, but maybe I’m wrong about that too.

I do want to add that when blogging about his personal affairs, or just riffing, John Cole is truly hilarious.

years from now ALL of Obamas scandals will come to light and you will spend the rest of the day peeling the Obama-Biden sticker off your Prius! By Obama falsely saying Bengazi was a anti Muslim video 7 days after the attack and making a “were sorry” America is bad commercial played in Pakistan caused violent protests all over Muslim world that left 300 injured and 11 dead . Kind of like the Fast and Furious gun scandle that killed 200 Mexicans and a boder patrol agent that was brushef under the rug. If your not outraged then your not paying attention!. fortunately even Liberal news sources are now covering his lying after they learned his administration has been spying on the AP and using the IRS to settle grudges. The truth will all come out someday soon when Obamacare ruins all the reporters health ins. The media protection and romance are almost over and people will know the truth!!

Not just tomato juice. FYI, after calling the vet, was told cornstarch, vinegar and water, and Massengil Douche were good neutralizers too. (Though after rubbing cornstarch into her face, Clemmie looked like a Kabuki actor.) They all work well enough to make your pooch tolerable inside.

After Clinton left office it was pretty common for Republicans to congratulate themselves for gumming up the works so that Clinton couldn’t get anything accomplished AND people were so tired of all the scandal and drama that they were eager to elect a perceived outsider with CEO (read get stuff done) credentials.

Wasn’t the desire to distance himself from “Clinton fatigue” the reason that Al Gore didn’t ask Bill to campaign for him?

Signs not good for lousy corporate media doing actual reporting.

TPM says ABC reaction to passing off notes some one took on administration “Benghazi!” emails as the emails themselves, and changes in wording (as opposed to extracts that are cherry picked) seems to be “so what?”.

The reporter himself seems to realize that there is a problem, for whatever that is worth in terms of how the press covers tings (my hunch is it don’t mean much at all).

    Better Answer, Please
    http://talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/2013/05/better_answer_please.php

BTW, TPM irritates me during election season, but they are the go to place for accurate news summaries. Funny how TPM can write a post in a few words that clears things up, when our failed corporate media experiment cannot seem to do that in gawd knows how many column-inches.

You could even turn some TPM posts into fifteen second soundbites and convey the gist of a story accurately. Funny how the multi million dollar pros at corporate media Inc can’t do that either.

Clinton was the first President I ever voted for, and the media was in constant scandal mode with that admin. If it wasn’t Hilary offending housewives ever where because she didn’t want to bake cookies, it was Clinton and his arrogant group of neophytes from Are-kansas.

Then came the meat and potatoes, in which both Hilary and Bill were serial murderers working their way through all of their enemies. Quite amazing when you think about the dissemination of rumor during the 90s given it was pre-internet.

What the GOP doesn’t realize is that because of that, Hillary is pretty much immunized against their dirty tricks. They’ve spent so much time turning her into the epitome of evil it actually back fired, and I’m honestly thinking the same of Obama. Keep in mind, people in the majority like Obama personally, job approval aside, and impeaching Obama isn’t going to do anything remotely positive for the Republicans.

@Hill Dweller: Not sure whether the reporter was intentionally filing a crooked story, or he was caught out swanking around like a pompous jackass and lying in order to impress us rubes as being so close to the ‘playuhs’.

In any case, that jackass at least realizes there is a problem, maybe he doesn’t realize he is part of it. ABC just doesn’t seem to give a damn. Yeah, we pump out misleading inaccurate garbage and call it news.

Maybe CNN’s hilariously horrid performance during the Boston bombings ticked up their ratings a bit, and we have a new corporate news business model?

Edit: And will AP say “yeah, we go ABC one better, we pump out self-serving inaccurate BS and call it news, and its all about US!, so eff off” ?
