Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

It’s time for the GOP to dust off that post-2012 autopsy, completely ignore it, and light the party on fire again.

Historically it was a little unusual for the president to be an incoherent babbling moron.

… pundit janitors mopping up after the GOP

Motto for the House: Flip 5 and lose none.

šŸŽ¶ Those boots were made for mockin’ šŸŽµ

Being the leader of the world means to be the leader of peace.

Take hopelessness and turn it into resilience.

The worst democrat is better than the best republican.

The words do not have to be perfect.

When someone says they ā€œlove freedomā€, rest assured they don’t mean yours.

A Senator Walker would be an insult to the state and the nation.

Impressively dumb. Congratulations.

But frankly mr. cole, I’ll be happier when you get back to telling us to go fuck ourselves.

Republicans do not pay their debts.

ā€œEverybody’s entitled to be an idiot.ā€

Fuck these fucking interesting times.

I’m pretty sure there’s only one Jack Smith.

Thanks to your bullshit, we are now under siege.

I see no possible difficulties whatsoever with this fool-proof plan.

Hot air and ill-informed banter

Accountability, motherfuckers.

Whatever happens next week, the fight doesn’t end.

I like you, you’re my kind of trouble.

“But what about the lurkers?”

That business has been at the top of the site long enough.

Meet Bubbles. Her owners’ three year old got the responsibility of naming her, and he only knows so many words, so Bubbles has a bit of a Boy Named Sue situation to overcome. So far she seems to be taking it well.

***Update***

Of course by ‘that business’ I mean Sullivan, not the post I just stepped on. Sorry Doug.

Disgusted but not surprised, the Village always takes care of its own. Sullivan:

When he and I were at TNR together, I saw nothing in him but good sense, good humor, and ambition. And the alleged sins of Karl are extremely petty – and designed to pile on after his regurgitation of Republican summaries of emails that were, shall we say, slanted a little. But Jon apologized for being a little suckered and has always, so far as I can see, been a fair-minded reporter.

a reporter lying– he said he had “obtained” and “reviewed” emails that didn’t exist– about a major political story is a “petty” thing. I don’t like what the DOJ did with the AP or with Rosen, but if the media really can’t figure out why Obama and a whole lot of other people don’t like them, look at Jonathan Karl, then look in the fucking mirror

Wait a minute, a girl dog named Bubbles? Why is this a ‘Boy Named Sue’ situation? Because Doberman and shutup?

Now if the kid had named her Beverly Sills but she could not sing, then you would have more a Girl Named Tosca, type problem.

I have received an email from 5 gunners that I know raising hell about the gun bill that was defeated but will be coming back for another vote. There are many “examples” on the email but I am just going to share one and ask if anybody knows if there is any truth to this at all:

    EXAMPLE #1

Loaning your buddy a shotgun for a duck hunting trip will be considered a transfer. If the following requirements are not met, YOU HAVE BOTH COMMITTED A FEDERAL CRIME.

    1. He or she must have already purchased their hunting license

    2. Season is already open (and will not close before he returns it)

    3. He cannot travel with the firearm through a county where season is not yet open or any area where hunting is prohibited and certainly not across a state line.

He CANNOT stop by your house on the day before season opens, pick up the shot gun, go to the sporting goods store to buy a license and shells then drive out to the hunting lease. In this scenario, YOU BOTH WOULD HAVE COMMITTED MULTIPLE FEDERAL CRIMES, YOUR WEAPONS WILL BE FORFEITED AND YOU WILL LOOSE YOUR RIGHT TO BUY OR OWN A FIREARM.

    True or bull shit?

I’ve heard that twisters like this are unique to a particular region of the US, and don’t happen anywhere else on Earth. Over here, I’ve never seen anything bigger than a dust devil myself.

Off topic, but regard for grammar seems to be a thing of the past at Salon: they’re running the Associated Press story on the Oklahoma tornado, under the headline

    TORNADO OKLAHOMA SUBURB

    Subject, object, but no verb.

And just as I’m about to hit (Submit Comment), Salon goes and changes it. Dang.

    @Amir Khalid:

They’re uncommon in other parts of the US, but they do happen. There was one in Northern California a couple of months ago.

The folks in the Plains States like Oklahoma are in what they call Tornado Alley, though, so they get hit several times a year. It’s sort of like the way earthquakes are common in California but technically could happen anywhere in the world.
