That was a really anti-climactic Game of Thrones.

No spoilers, people.

    Sorry, if Peter Dinklange and/or “Stong Sexual Content” can’t be bothered to show up, neither can I.

    On a side note, Daenerys Targaryen’s storyline has become a whole series of showing up somewhere, acting princess-y, and taking over. I find that rather irritating.

    Yeah, the problem is that the next story arc is basically a reset. I’m not really a fan of the style of storytelling in which an entire slate of characters is wiped clean and then you have to start again with a new cast. It’s actually better in the show because the writers made the effort to introduce Stannis, Davos, Brienne etc much earlier on than in the books.

    Incidentally I think the Red Wedding is a lot more grueling to me than the stuff that happens in Book 5, especially since so many of the events therein are, shall we say, unreliably narrated.

    I agree very much. The season long plot of season 4 of BTVS is rather weak, and due to casting, abrupt. However, the characters and dialogue are at the top of their games. A standalone episode like “Pangs” is absolutely brilliant – “Pangs” should become a Thanksgiving tradition, IMO.

    Now that I’ve actually watched it, the Red Wedding was nowhere near as affecting as the book version. I mean, my heart was pounding and my brain was screaming DOOM DOOM DOOM as the scene started, but Robb getting up and cradling his wife after being struck but not killed by a single quarrel (after looking pretty dead for a few minutes) followed by a sanitized version of the death of Catelyn — that was actually underwhelming.

    I’ll keep watching though.

    Never saw more than a handful of Angel episodes, so cannot make a determination.

    For Buffy (about which a friend/fanatic kept insisting “It’ll grow on you!”) have seen more than enough.

    Would call it a tie between Riley and Ben for that series.

    @Narcissus:

    I mean do people read/watch GoT and then go shave their balls with an arrowhead

    Typical BJ whiner. Now you’ll be telling me I’m supposed to use a sharp arrowhead when I’m shavin’ me balls instead of the one me Daddy passed on to me.

    Game of Thrones reminds me of 1984. If things start going well for the main characters it’s just to build up your hopes before they come crashing down. Theon escapes his captor…Arya almost was reunited with her mother and brother…Bran and Rickon were almost reunited with John Snow. This will continue on throughout the series. The better it gets for certain characters, the worse their fall will be.
