Jesus Christ. I don’t read the books…so wow.
Incredibly well-done, but kind of sad. Seems like all the heavy shit drops in the second-to-last episode of every season.
Sorry, if Peter Dinklange and/or “Stong Sexual Content” can’t be bothered to show up, neither can I.
On a side note, Daenerys Targaryen’s storyline has become a whole series of showing up somewhere, acting princess-y, and taking over. I find that rather irritating.
16.
Mr Stagger Lee
I will wait until DVD’S come out so no harm no foul on spoilers. But if Sligo is right I will be disappointed, True Blood went to shit after the 3rd season. So it if not the first time.

Personally, if I were a Northman, I don’t think I’d ever forget the events of the Red Wedding. I think Arya’s gonna go batchit insane and turn into a real serial killer after seeing all of that.

Yeah, the problem is that the next story arc is basically a reset. I’m not really a fan of the style of storytelling in which an entire slate of characters is wiped clean and then you have to start again with a new cast. It’s actually better in the show because the writers made the effort to introduce Stannis, Davos, Brienne etc much earlier on than in the books.
Incidentally I think the Red Wedding is a lot more grueling to me than the stuff that happens in Book 5, especially since so many of the events therein are, shall we say, unreliably narrated.
I mean do people read/watch GoT and then go shave their balls with an arrowhead

@Desmond: I concede your point, I am waiting for the DVD series, and I do admit I like what I have seen. Two series that broke the season 3 curse with me was Breaking Bad and Justified, and yeah Curb Your Enthusiasm.
@Mr Stagger Lee: Hmm. Both Buffy and Angel have controversial 4th seasons. Many would say the shows went downhill severely in these seasons, to rebound in their fifth seasons. I wouldn’t say that though. Seasons 4 of each rocked, especially for Angel, which I thought was the best season of TV ever. Or close to it.
@Narcissus:
There are a lot of shows/movies/books like that. I’m not a fan of stories that are sunshine and lollipops all day everyday, but there are some things that make me go ‘God damn, why would I continue to watch this when it’s already making me want to slit my wrists?’ There’s only so much death I can take, man. @Redshirt: Season 4 of Buffy arguably has the best individual episodes, but is overall a weaker season than season 3, and it most certainly did not rebound with season 5.
I have high hopes for GoT continuing to be good since the next season is still based on the third book, which is my favorite.
Season 4 of Buffy arguably has the best individual episodes, but is overall a weaker season than season 3, and it most certainly did not rebound with season 5
I agree very much. The season long plot of season 4 of BTVS is rather weak, and due to casting, abrupt. However, the characters and dialogue are at the top of their games. A standalone episode like “Pangs” is absolutely brilliant – “Pangs” should become a Thanksgiving tradition, IMO.

Now that I’ve actually watched it, the Red Wedding was nowhere near as affecting as the book version. I mean, my heart was pounding and my brain was screaming DOOM DOOM DOOM as the scene started, but Robb getting up and cradling his wife after being struck but not killed by a single quarrel (after looking pretty dead for a few minutes) followed by a sanitized version of the death of Catelyn — that was actually underwhelming.
Buffy: Jonathan. He was the little nerd who did bad in the end and was killed in a most cowardly fashion. He was in all 7 seasons believe it or not, often as a semi-main character.
I mean do people read/watch GoT and then go shave their balls with an arrowhead
Typical BJ whiner. Now you’ll be telling me I’m supposed to use a sharp arrowhead when I’m shavin’ me balls instead of the one me Daddy passed on to me.
Game of Thrones reminds me of 1984. If things start going well for the main characters it’s just to build up your hopes before they come crashing down. Theon escapes his captor…Arya almost was reunited with her mother and brother…Bran and Rickon were almost reunited with John Snow. This will continue on throughout the series. The better it gets for certain characters, the worse their fall will be.
