Guys at work love this show, so I watched one episode a year or two ago. In the big scene one of the characters was chained up and forced to watch his daughter get doused with gasoline and burned to death.
No thanks, and I can’t begin to understand why some people want to pollute their souls with this shit.

I’m torn. If Honduras wins or draws, we’re in. If Panama wins, Mexico is on the outside looking in with two matches left.
Never got into “SoA” but it’s on Hulu, so eventually. Just finished “Luther” Season 4 on BBC America. Good show but I read that they cut about 15 minutes per episode to make room for all the crappy commercials.

Still, I totally think this may be a case of the Jhud type of runner up “future” prospects. I can see both of the #2s doing really well with a dance career, the female #2 much more so than the male, but both are good

de Blasio less than 1% from avoiding a runoff. Wonder if the areas left for him are enough to get him over the threshold.
Either way, it looks like Quinn went down in flames – she’s around 15% of the vote right now…that term limits thing came back to bite her in a big way.
I have to think that if it goes to a runoff, Thompson is going to find himself a lot of new friends eager to pour money into his pockets. I don’t understand why people like him – Al D’Amato is basically running his campaign.

SoA doesn’t seem to be my thing (or I’ve just not given it enough time, but I’m very selective about <2 hours or so of TV stuff I watch each week [not that I'm a snob, I'm just compelled to spend a lot of my time with my hobby]). But I do haveta say, after the Left Coast showing of Breaking Bad on Sunday, I couldn't bellive I didn't see a peep about it on this site. I know Cole's still in the catch-up phase, but Miei Rigatoni!, did that show land a haymaker last week. Walter White is now firmly ensconced with Michael Corleone and Henry Hill in the Outlaw Hall of Fame in the Pantload household.
Anyhoo, just hadda say. Now I should really finish up my work, since I'd rather be typing this from home next to Mrs. Pantload.

@different-church-lady: BTW, if you want to see some blog owner’s silence, go look up how many times Kos has commented about Greenwald/Snowden/NSA.
Looks like we’re in trouble in one of the CO State Senate races – the Senate President is down 4% and needs to win the remaining votes by 12%+ to stay in.
We’ve got to win these races – shit like this just gives those fuckers at the NRA more power.
Any NYC think this will be a hard fight for De Blasio or is he basically in like Flint?
I don’t think De Blasio is in like Flint, but I don’t think it’ll be a particularly hard fight either. Lhota will probably have a lot of money backing him, and all the NYC conservative media.
But I get the feeling that people here are pretty much tired of our Dem city being run by a Republican. Thompson’s near upset in the last election was a sign. So, absent a scenario where Lhota gins up a De Blasio scandal, De Blasio will take it. In my opinion. Assuming Bill’s the candidate, I’ll certainly be voting for him in the general (and the runoff, if there is one).

I have no fucking clue. I voted Dem in every election since I returned here in the early-mid 90’s. Except for one, and I’m still kicking myself for it — thought the last mayoral election was a done deal for Bloomberg and skipped it. I was totally annoyed with myself for not voting after I saw how close it was.
Won’t be skipping any elections again.

San Francisco City Attorney Dennis Herrera sued the state of Nevada on Tuesday, accusing it of deliberately giving almost 500 psychiatric patients at a state-run hospital one-way bus tickets to California.
Could end up being a Bill v. Bill runoff. He’s at 39.5% right now…
In a runoff, almost all of Liu’s vote will go to De Blasio (they were both supported by Working Families) — which could put him within a percent of the majority before the runoff even begins.
I can see how it might get close. Obviously the anti-De Blasio vote will coalesce behind Thompson, but I think De Blasio is just too close to already having a majority in the runoff, if it happens. I think De Blasio will probably pull over 40% once all of tonight’s votes are counted, though.

The guy running against Spitz had some solid liberal cred, did he not? Backed by all the unions?
You know he lost BECAUSE of the “personal affair” how exactly? Which btw wasn’t just a fucking “personal afffair” — it was, you know, law breaking — the same law that he charged others with as AG.
