On the show last week, we discussed how major fast food companies rely on Federal assistance to keep their wages low (we had Jack Temple of the National Employment Law Project on the show to break down the details_. But little did we know that McDonalds was actively telling their employees to seek SNAP assistance and Medicaid to gain access to assistance for food and healthcare. One of the major planks of the Republican party platform is that we need to move the poor into jobs and off of welfare and so I’ll just wait for the Congressional hearing about corporations stealing from American taxpayers any day now.
Also on today’s #TWiBRadio, #TeamBlackness discussed no twerking contracts, rebuking the spirit of everything from deafness to alcoholism, and lessons in how to avoid accidentally sending nude selfies.

This morning on #amTWiB, The Morning Crew discussed religious folks lying for money, the UC Davis pepper spray cop got a bigger settlement than his victims, and a Florida cop does something . . . nice?

This is just more proof of Regulatory Capture.
When will you libtards realize government creates these problems?

a Florida cop does something . . . nice?
I read about that. Nice story. It is a refreshing change from the usual shooting/tasing story.

Yeah, that was a really nice story :)
Roger Moore
You’re foolishly assuming that the goal is to move people into jobs so they don’t need welfare. The Republicans’ goal is to destroy welfare so poor people are desperate for any job, no matter how dismal, dangerous, and low paying.

Elon does raise a good question; namely: How do you steal $300.00 worth of groceries?

That McDonalds Mom video is fantastic!

That video is getting shared on FB. Thanks Elon!

It’s wonderful, Elon. Thanks so much.

Thanks Elon. I have no idea why it seems all your posts get stomped on my other posters, but thanks for the McDonald’s video. It was fun.

@Roger Moore: I agree with your theory. They hate social safety nets, because it makes it too expensive (for most of them) to hire scads of servants like they were the Duke of Kent.

@kc: Lots of saffron & a couple lobsters.

If we just got rid of SNAP and Medicaid, then the market would magically provide food and insurance to impoverished workers, amirite?
