Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

“A king is only a king if we bow down.” – Rev. William Barber

Nancy smash is sick of your bullshit.

I’m more christian than these people and i’m an atheist.

It may be funny to you motherfucker, but it’s not funny to me.

They are not red states to be hated; they are voter suppression states to be fixed.

Radicalized white males who support Trump are pitching a tent in the abyss.

Republicans: “Abortion is murder but you can take a bus to get one.” Easy peasy.

Why is it so hard for them to condemn hate?

You passed on an opportunity to be offended? What are you even doing here?

The only way through is to slog through the muck one step at at time.

Anyone who bans teaching American history has no right to shape America’s future.

When I decide to be condescending, you won’t have to dream up a fantasy about it.

“Everybody’s entitled to be an idiot.”

The truth is, these are not very bright guys, and things got out of hand.

It’s the corruption, stupid.

“Perhaps I should have considered other options.” (head-desk)

We cannot abandon the truth and remain a free nation.

… gradually, and then suddenly.

“Just close your eyes and kiss the girl and go where the tilt-a-whirl takes you.” ~OzarkHillbilly

Republicans want to make it harder to vote and easier for them to cheat.

The desire to stay informed is directly at odds with the need to not be constantly enraged.

They think we are photo bombing their nice little lives.

Mediocre white men think RFK Jr’s pathetic midlife crisis is inspirational. The bar is set so low for them, it’s subterranean.

I did not have this on my fuck 2025 bingo card.

Can’t get into football this year. Between the suckage that is exemplified by both Pitt and the Steelers, the latest locker room nastiness and all the brain injury stuff, I just can’t take joy in it the way I used to. Waiting for the Pens game to start tonight and Pitt basketball to start the real season.

@Joseph Nobles: You’re almost certainly right. And in a way I want an undefeated ‘Bama to crush whatever the basketball conferences offer up as an opponent in the championship game like a rotten walnut. Because I’m an SEC homer. But I like LSU.

This will turn your stomach —
Texas prosecutor to serve 10 days for innocent man’s 25-year imprisonment

    http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/nov/08/texas-prosecutor-ken-anderson-michael-morton-trial

Anderson faced up to 10 years in prison if convicted of tampering with evidence in the 1987 murder trial of Michael Morton, who wrongly spent nearly 25 years in prison.

Sounds like they deliberately took a dive to let this scumbag off easy.

It makes me a little bit sad when Michigan, Nebraska, and Florida are mediocre football teams, and I don’t even have a dog in that hunt.

FSM knows I would love to see AL go down, though, and I don’t have a dog in that hunt either except for my contempt for all things AL other than my brother and the food and hospitality.

    @raven:
the line only jumps off the roller during a “slack line” situation with a loop.
doesn’t happen often and only with no tension on the line.
think fish running at you and the curl in the line causes a loop that jumps off.
then think how you get that line back on the roller when line is peeling off.
it doesn’t happen often and it wouldn’t stop me from buying the reel, especially if i was only gonna use it for surf.
$159 isn’t too bad for a decent reel these days but shop carefully.
i own a bunch of penn slammers and even the small ones (260 size) push that cost.
    go for it.
    YOLO.

And 80% of them have the same damn plot. Career-driven young woman (usually in New York but sometimes on the West coast) is forced to return to her quaint home town ’cause a family member is ill/to save the family farm/has to take custody of her three suddenly orphaned nieces. There she reconnects with her old school sweetheart (who, despite being handsome and hunky, is suprisingly still unmarried.) Also reconnects with all those old-fashioned values she forgot in her souless climb up the corporate ladder. Cue the snowfall on Christmas Eve.

The streak is now at 61 but it should be zero. The St. Cloud State Huskies! Huskies! Huskies! played hard and aggressive. The Gopher defense can look really shaky against a strong forecheck. Give ’em time to make decisions and they’ll pick you apart, even with three freshmen back there, but pressure gets to them. St. Cloud deserved to win this game and with three minutes left it looked like they were going to. Then Dani Cameranesi tipped Baylee Gillanders shot into the net at 17:58 and then the Huskies let Milica McMillen skate in unmolested a minute later and she buried it for the 4-3 win.

North Dakota next week. The Gophers need to play a hell of a lot better than they did today for the streak to reach 63.
