I can’t sleep because I drank coffee again after 4 pm, but I have a friend staying the night who had never seen Breaking Bad so we are lounging here with the pets watching it. Really funny how many things I missed the first time through now that I have seen it and know what to look for. Meanwhile, this was happening earlier:
Off to bed soon, I hope.

You gotta get yourself some decaf. Or at least some tea. Less caffeine.
I have to wait until I’m falling asleep sitting up before I can try to actually go to bed, which sucks because it means getting less sleep than I probably should. We need some kind of Star Trek thing where you just wave a wand over your face and go right to sleep.

My grandmother always had a cup of coffee before bed. I always hold those who claim that a cup of coffee in the afternoon keeps you up suspect.

I just finished off the pot.

Find a mediocre book to read. A good one will keep you up, a bad one is unbearable, but a mediocre one will put you to sleep.

We’re watching BB now and found the connection between REM’s Tourfilm director Jim McCay and BB, The Wire, Treme and others. That being said the idea that BB is anywhere near as good as The Wire seems nuts to us. We are now watching The Hour with Dominic West and, like so many Brit shows, it’s very good.

@raven:
Breaking Bad isn’t as good as the Wire. It’s far better.
It gets consistently better over the course of five seasons, while the Wire ended on its weakest.

Coffee late won’t keep me awake, but my body will tremor as if I ran a jackhammer all day while I lay in bed. Disturbing until I figured out what was going on. Now I avoid coffee later in the day unless I think I might get lucky ;-)

I drink pots of coffee every day, staying up late and waiting for Cole to post pet pics. Now I can go to bed.

John, are you using f.lux on your computers? As the sun goes down, it gradually takes out the blue spectrum from your screen, making your screen adapt to the time of day. The blue spectrum is what tells your brain it’s daytime and can keep you up. There are similar products for phones. It makes a massive difference. Give it a try.
Also, have your doctor check your Vitamin D levels. Mine were low and when I started taking Vitamin D, my sleep improved immediately.
If you drink coffee in the afternoon, try getting some exercise. It can get the caffeine moving out of your system faster. Even a brisk walk with the piglets might help.

I know Maine Coons have thick coats but looks like Steve has his winter one comin’ in strong.
Cute. I love seeing my critters together.

Lilly seems to be a vary patient pooch when it comes to the Steve.

A doctor once told me that with older people the coffee has the opposite effect. She explained it, but I forget how it works.

@Violet:
Thanks. Giving f.lux a try. Interesting concept.
