Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

… among the most cringeworthy communications in the history of the alphabet!

The republican caucus is already covering themselves with something, and it’s not glory.

I was promised a recession.

Russian mouthpiece, go fuck yourself.

It’s a doggy dog world.

Do not shrug your shoulders and accept the normalization of untruths.

Yeah, with this crowd one never knows.

I’m sure you banged some questionable people yourself.

Proof that we need a blogger ethics panel.

This isn’t Democrats spending madly. This is government catching up.

Ron DeSantis, the grand wizard, oops, governor of FL

Let’s finish the job.

Only Democrats have agency, apparently.

I’d hate to be the candidate who lost to this guy.

The next time the wall street journal editorial board speaks the truth will be the first.

“Everybody’s entitled to be an idiot.”

Chutkan laughs. Lauro sits back down.

White supremacy is terrorism.

Just because you believe it, that doesn’t make it true.

The worst democrat is better than the best republican.

Has any of the lawyers here been following the Ibrahim vs DHS case? Dr Rahinah Ibrahim, dean of design and architecture at Universiti Putra Malaysia, is suing the DHS because it put her on the no-fly list in 2005, preventing her from going back to Stanford to finish her doctorate in person. Because she’s still on the list, she hasn’t been able to travel to the US for er academic work, although she can travel anywhere else. She couldn’t even travel to the US to testify in this lawsuit.

Her daughter Raihan Mustafa Kamal, a born-in-the-USA American citizen, has also been unable to return to the US to testify for Professor Rahinah. Raihan has been also prevented by DHS from coming back to America, in violation of her rights as an American.

    @WaterGIrl: , @Omnes Omnibus:

Indian pudding aficionados!? How cool! I always thought of it as a New England dessert, and I believe you two inhabit the Heartland. I adore it, one of my favorite desserts, though it’s now rare to find it served in restaurants. I’ll come across it occasionally in eateries in Maine (the famous Moody’s Diner on Coastal Route 1 there proudly serves a delicious bowl – but only one night a week), and I’m no longer in Boston (thank God!) where it would sometimes be featured on menus.

Watergirl: The cornmeal in an Indian pudding gives it a grainy texture and the overall consistency should be porridge-like. I haven’t seen OO’s recipe, but when making it myself, I use dark molasses, am generous with raisins, and add a teaspoon or so of allspice, reducing cinnamon and nutmeg to a rounded half-tsp. I prefer to top it with whipped cream (a drop of rum won’t hurt) rather than vanilla ice cream because that cools the warm pudding (and it must be served steaming) too quickly.

And now having written that out, my mouth is watering for some. Kitchen duty tomorrow methinks. I apologize if this has only added to your hunger pangs.
