I have thought about this girl for days and even tried to get commenter JenJen (another Ohio girl) to add her to the brood, so this makes me happy:
I’m just going to add her to the list of the ones who got away, because that is seriously one of the most precious faces I have ever seen. And with a beagle/dachshund mix, you just know she is going to be a splendid handful.

Congratulations to little Juliet! Very glad she’s found a home… and that it’s not yours, Cole :)

Yay Juliet! A home for the holidays!
Okay, that was cheesy. I am ashamed.
SiubhanDuinne
I’m not even that much of a dog lover (nothing against dogs, I’ve just always had cats) and this puppeh has taken hold of my brain since I first saw her picture. So glad she has a new forever home!
SiubhanDuinne
@Karen in GA:
Do not be ashamed, I think you speak for most of us.
Do you mind saying, where in GA do you live?
Just Some Fuckhead, Thought Leader
Is it possible this dog just has a naturally pensive look and isn’t trying to convey emotional vulnerability?

Great news!
I can’t commit to a pup right now, but I am the resident dog sitter in our office. I know you can’t underestimate the comfort in knowing your fam is taken care of while you’re away. Its great for all parties involved. I often tell my co-workers to go somewhere already!,so I can get my dog time in.

I was going to sponsor her. No internet connection over the holidays, though.
Did the disco scarf convey?
Happy news re Miss Juliet. Hope she loves her forever home.
What did become of her puppies?
SiubhanDuinne
@Elizabelle:
Fixed for adorable alliteration.

@SiubhanDuinne:
Beagle bling is good.
Juliet is a keeper.

Beautiful face.

It’s a mix, sort of an everything beagle.

That’s a link to some pictures of some of the dos rescued from the hoarder in Washington state. One of he dogs looks like Lily. Her name is Lupe and she was “rescued” by the hoarder in 2007 and spent the years since then in a crate stacked in a warehouse. Being held, breathing clean air, being taken for a walk…all miracles for her.

Pet Calendar? Any word? Will it, perhaps, be available before it’s actually 2014?
SiubhanDuinne
@SixStringFanatic: I’m another who has been wondering. Would be grateful for an update.
April
I’ve been awaiting the calendar, too!

Cole is so predictable….all the dogs he falls for look exactly like him

Good news! Thanks for keeping us updated!

I’m happy for Juliet. Sparkly scarf FTW!
Karen in GA
@SiubhanDuinne: About 40 miles northeast of Atlanta. Not far from Chateau Élan — at least not geographically, anyway. In other ways, however, I might as well be on another planet.
And I want a calendar too! Take my money already!

It’s a good feeling when you see the successes out there. Sorry you didn’t get her John but let’s face it….you can’t quit your job and be broodmaster to critters. And she got adopted. She’ll be much happier now. So should we all.

Welllll since this is the thread for it, even though I already hurrahed about it in a previous one, I’m gonna leave this here https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=634879113224761&set=a.211932642186079.50352.211690755543601&type=1
I’m telling you. If I ever win the lottery, I’m buying a big ass house and adopting like a dozen animals. And also hiring someone to clean the litter boxes and the yard :P
SiubhanDuinne
@Karen in GA: Not all that far from me, I’m in Duluth/John’s Creek area.
Let me know if you’d ever be up for a local meet-up. JPL and I have met a couple of times, and we keep trying to find a time that SIA and Raven can join in. Would love to do a Georgia get-together with you and anyone else in metro Atlanta area.

Sweet doggie face!
Brought our dog (adopted from a shelter in October) to my parents’ for Christmas. Also visiting were my young nieces and nephews, all afraid of dogs (to varying degrees). I offered to keep her on a lead with me the whole week if needed, but within two days they were all playing fetch with our pooch, giving her commands (none of which match the commands we’ve actually taught her) and overfeeding her with treats. Every minute of retraining I’ll have to do once we’re home will be worth it for the memory of the nephew who is particularly terrified of dogs petting our good girl.

For my local shelter. This is where I go to adopt.

I have this strange with my niece. All four years old of her. I don’t spend as much time with her as I wish, but alas we rock the shit.
