Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

đŸŽ¶ Those boots were made for mockin’ đŸŽ”

We know you aren’t a Democrat but since you seem confused let me help you.

“Alexa, change the president.”

Hey Washington Post, “Democracy Dies in Darkness” was supposed to be a warning, not a mission statement.

No offense, but this thread hasn’t been about you for quite a while.

In my day, never was longer.

Republicans are radicals, not conservatives.

Disappointing to see gov. newsom with his finger to the wind.

Dear Washington Post, you are the darkness now.

Republicans are the party of chaos and catastrophe.

They are lying in pursuit of an agenda.

These are not very smart people, and things got out of hand.

We will not go back.

If a good thing happens for a bad reason, it’s still a good thing.

Republicans firmly believe having an abortion is a very personal, very private decision between a woman and J.D. Vance.

When tyranny becomes law, rebellion becomes duty. ~Thomas Jefferson

The low info voters probably won’t even notice or remember by their next lap around the goldfish bowl.

When I was faster i was always behind.

“The difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits.”

Someone should tell Republicans that violence is the last refuge of the incompetent, or possibly the first.

Humiliatingly small and eclipsed by the derision of millions.

The words do not have to be perfect.

A thin legal pretext to veneer over their personal religious and political desires.

Oh FFS you might as well trust a 6-year-old with a flamethrower.

We don’t ask much from you, but would you please consider Betty Cracker’s mom in your thoughts this morning. I don’t believe in religion, but I believe in positive energy, and I believe in good people. Betty is a good person, and I am sure her mom is too just because they share the same bloodline, so let’s have some focused positive thoughts for the elder Cracker.

And no, I don’t mean Rush Limbaugh, even though he is another cracker in Florida.

Sending much Light and Healing Beams to you, Betty, and you Mom, and your whole family.

In just that one beautifully spoken comment you made your Mother be so present. Thank you for “introducing” us all.

She is way too young and vibrant to have this happen. Rage seems quite appropriate. Though you all have so much love together, it sounds, relying on that abubdance will, here’s hoping, be your strength and shelter.

Please know that you, your siblings, and especially your mom are wrapped in the whitest of light, the warmest of fuzzies, and the most embracing of virtual hugs. I lost mine in November and those last few weeks were pretty horrible so I think I know something about how you’re feeling. The thing about my mom is, she’s a real character– hilarious, sarcastic, brilliant, takes no shit from anyone.

Now why does that not surprise me? Betty, you have described yourself, as well as your mom.

I’m betting your mom is a force of nature. If anybody can get through this, I suspect she has better odds than most. Sending love and hugs, and and wishing you:

Peace, to soothe you; Grace, to hold you; Love, to comfort you.

    Betty, Dear…

There’s no getting around how hard this is, how bad, how painful, it feels. I feel for you sister.
You are, of course, going to be okay – but, yeah, nothing feels okay now. It shouldn’t.

The most powerful and important relationships cause the most tremendous, and overwhelming feelings when they come to, when they look like they are coming to, what seems to be the end.
You are going to be okay.

    Betty —

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

My own mother, who is much older, is struggling with advanced heart failure and it is very difficult to watch your Mom suffer. Your mother is much younger at 67 (Mine is 92), but no matter what age, its huge — very huge…even as we pursue a hospice approach where we know extraordinary measures will not be done —

Blessings to you and only the best to you and your Mom and family…
