Speaking of Oklahoma, a Toboggesque classic from the Wonkette dominatrix, who happens to be one of the funnest people I met at the DNC in Charlotte. She’s a lot like me- demented and sad, but social. She’s also more demanding and hornier, but those are perks in my eyes.

That was a really, really long post. So forgive me but was the upshot, Oklahoma is secretly liberal, just no one knows it, which again forgive me, but it is the kind of wishful thinking I often hear, not upheld come election day.

My stepson, his daughter and his long time girlfriend (NO – the daughter is NOT his girlfriend ;) ) are moving the hell out of Oklahoma after living down there for the last three years. His stories about some of the people he’s encountered and the twisters he’s lived through have made me shudder in horror and wish that he’d get out of there. Finally he’s getting wise and packing up his stuff and heading up north to Montana to go live with his sister around Flathead Lake until he can get transferred to the local Wal-Mart (I wish he’d get out of there, too, but baby steps….) and get his own place. I thank God my granddaughter won’t have to go through high school in Oklahoma. She’s a smart girl who I don’t want to see be dumbed down by a bunch of conservative religious yahoos running the local school system. I think she is saved from believing that Jesus rode a dinosaur.

They might vote for marijuana because rednecks like to get high, but that’s not going to help Democrats get elected because half the democrats would be republicans in any sane state, and the other half are various nutcases like one might imagine a marginalized Democratic party in a state like OK to have running. And god bless people like her mother who keep smiling through it all but really, it’s pretty fucking hopeless.
