You barbarian lynch-mobbers, how dare you suggest that Roger Goodell knew about the Ray Rice incident before the video link. How DARE you…oh, he knew? Mr. Rice told him the whole story? Oh……
Tell me again, why has Mr. Goodell not resigned yet?

I would like to think that Bob Kraft, owner of the New England Patriots, who’s late wife once put a kibosh on a draftee when it was found out he beat a co-ed in college, will lead the charge to drop Goddell, and gain back the respect after his team’s craptacular mega fail with Aaron Hernandez.
Rays f-cking blew a no-hitter against the Yankees in the Bronx going into the 8th, and then the relief pitcher gave up a 3-run homer to lose it all. Ladies and gentlemen, your 2014 Rays.

I’m surprised how well the Ravens look compared to the Stillers. I can’t root for either team, Ben is a violent dick, and the Ravens, well, what to say?
Goodall is a walking dead man, or should be. Professionally, I’m meaning. Not literally.
I can’t really get videos online, can anyone point me to a transcript of the contractors in Ferguson, MS? I’m just interested, we all know what happened, a dirty cop killed a kid with his hands up. End of story.
But the confirming story of out-of-town contractors passing through to see a horror show like Dennis’s. That’s interesting.
I’ve been a Steelers fan for my whole life, as many West Virginian’s were. Except for Green Bay, the family owned team, the Steelers were the best, Rocky Blair, Franco Harris, Terry, the steel curtain, but Ben just rubs me wrong. Talented, but wrong.
Sorry, John, no offense, but there I am…

@Mr Stagger Lee: I blame that one on the lackadaisical scouting; they knew he had issues, they even hired Football Jesus to help deal. Well, we all think that’s why they hired Tebow.
The scouts didn’t know that he was a person of interest in one previous shooting, back in school. And they bloody well should have.

John, I hope the Steelers eat shit and bay at the moon. Cowboys fan here, so you know I’m tough.
@efgoldman: Who hurts more from that, the league or the owners?
Maybe that’s a redundant inquiry. If it’s hurting 2 or 3 owners cash flow, meh. If it starts hitting all 31, watch how fast action occurs. (Yes, 31. I exclude Green Bay because Green Bay.)
Along with Pittsburgh Steelers owner Art Rooney II, Mara has accepted Goodell’s invitation to oversee former FBI chief Robert Mueller’s investigation into Goodell’s gross mishandling of the Ray Rice case. It’s all a bit bizarre, this decision by a commissioner to launch an investigation of the man in his bathroom mirror by hiring someone (Mueller) out of a law firm with business ties to the league (WilmerHale), and then asking two longtime in-league allies to supervise it. … And then having the nerve to call it “independent.”
It is good to have money, and it is good to have friends. It’s great to have both.

Well, Rhianna was uninvited from opening tonight’s game. Too often when things go badly for men, a woman has to pay. Just sit there and endure your bad “optics” like a man, Goodell.
ETA: I hope they had to pay her double when they backed out of the deal.
The vultures are circling over Roger Goodell and pressuring NFL owners to dump the commissioner for what has become Ray Rice (Video) Gate.
So far, it’s not working. The owners still have his back. Rice committed the crime. Goodell did not. There is no undercurrent to fire him, no small faction that wants him out. In fact, owners are more concerned Goodell is going to get fed up and quit.
It is certainly possible that Goodell saw the second video, but I have doubts that he did. There would be so little upside in ignoring something that was sure to be made public anyway – and made public with such certain explosiveness.
It seems that at this time Goodell still has a high enough VORP (to borrow from baseball) to keep him in place.
