Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

They want us to be overwhelmed and exhausted. Focus. Resist. Oppose.

It’s the corruption, stupid.

You cannot shame the shameless.

Democracy cannot function without a free press.

They spent the last eight months firing professionals and replacing them with ideologues.

You are so fucked. Still, I wish you the best of luck.

This must be what justice looks like, not vengeful, just peaceful exuberance.

Nancy smash is sick of your bullshit.

There are consequences to being an arrogant, sullen prick.

“Alexa, change the president.”

Trumpflation is an intolerable hardship for every American, and it’s Trump’s fault.

Never entrust democracy to any process that requires republicans to act in good faith.

Keep the Immigrants and deport the fascists!

If you’re gonna whine, it’s time to resign!

No one could have predicted…

Do not shrug your shoulders and accept the normalization of untruths.

Today’s gop: why go just far enough when too far is right there?

Trump’s cabinet: like a magic 8 ball that only gives wrong answers.

Giving up is unforgivable.

Too little, too late, ftfnyt. fuck all the way off.

Republicans in disarray!

I’m starting to think Jesus may have made a mistake saving people with no questions asked.

Let’s not be the monsters we hate.

Republicans are the party of chaos and catastrophe.

Another possible shady killing in Ferguson, the media has a new shiny penny to play with (back to the damn SS Cartegna again, who’ll be the first to say that Obama KNEW rather than some WH aide, might have known), Darren Wilson still at large and Leon Panetta and now Jimmy Carter out here saying Obama has no idea what he’s doing. Oh and Ebola!

Ugh and we still just a little over 1 week into October…ugh.

I’m trying my best to ignore as much as possible, I’m going back to planning my trip to Hawaii.

After getting a car inspection and doing a couple of other errands today, I grabbed a folding chair, a bottle of water, a book and drove to the beach. It was 12:30 and there were no free parking spaces. WTF? There must have been hundreds of people there. It’s almost the middle of October and all the tourists should be gone by now.

Steve’s muzzle looks so fine and delicate, esp. against that gorgeous mane. I just want to scritch his cheeks and see his whiskers flare. (Never yet met a kitty who didn’t love to have their cheeks and chin scritched.)

So this is how democracy ends in America, eh?

Hillary’s our next president and she loves the financial crime lords and wants more endless unwinnable foreign wars, and nobody cares.

Obama has stopped participating in the governance process and pretty much devoted himself to sketching out his memoirs for that double-digit-milionaire payday he’s going to get when he leaves off, and nobody cares.

We’ve gotten ourselves mired back in Iraq, and nobody cares.

Global warming has spiraled so far out of control nobody is making suggestions to deal with it anymore, because basically it’s GAME OVER. And nobody cares.

And the Republicans have settled down into a safe lethal game of “the worse, the better,” like the Leninist Bolsheviks bombing people and creating chaos and shutting down the provisional government in Russia in 1917, and nobody cares.

Yes, it’s just another day in late Weimar America.

    And nobody cares.

I caught a good bit of the interview with Dan Pfeiffer this weekend and I was taken aback at how really tough he was on Pfeiffer. Almost as tough the Brits are with their pols.

I am really po’d at Leon “the asshole” Pannetta. What a POS. Who the fuck is he talk about anything when he gave away the store when he was COS for Clinton.
,BTW, how come nobody’s front paged the Hank Greenberg/AIG lawsuit against the feds? WATB thinks the feds mistreated him by saving his company. OTOH, it appears that Hank Paulson did use AIG to launder money to Goldman Sachs during the bailout. I know everybody here in shocked about that astounding finding. Apparently, a lot of people in the know think that there’s a good chance that Greenberg will win the lawsuit.
