    AL finally saved us. Hurray !

    My own opinion is that Facebook is actually the crack cocaine of social media. I go for BJ, which is more esoteric / exotic (think Absinthe).

    ETA: Re: the paper – that doesn’t even scan correctly (compare to “hit me with your rhythm stick”, over and over again).

    I’ve gotten a few calls on my cell and home phone and I swear it’s a runaround the Do Not Call list.
    Caller: Is X person in?
    Me:No, you’ve called the wrong number. Nobody by that name lives here.
    Caller:Oh, I’m sorry I must have called the wrong number. Hey, we’ve got a special going on xyz, Would you be interested?
    I guess I should tell them to me off their fucking phone list. My cell phone number used to apparently be an active republican’s phone number. I used to waste quite a bit of republican pollster/fundraiser time. I guess they eventually figured out the person had died because the phone calls stopped.

    In Malaysia, per the Constitutional definition, if you are not Muslim you are not Malay, regardless of your actual ethnicity. It is an artifact of the racial politics here.

    I’m trying to get a few job apps done before bedtime. it does feel a bit sisyphean. but I did buy a christmas rosemary tree, in a mad rush of hopeful hopiness. I stopped warcrack after my entire machine had a kernel panic and crashed. I figured it was a universal statement that I should go do something else. So far, I have apps out to places like Burbank & Torrance and Seattle. If I get an actual interview, BJ meet up thingy!

    Just got back from state marching band championship. The boy’s band got first in division and 2nd overall, missing first by 1/10 point. Everyone is more deflated than they should be. They’ve worked so hard, and they should really be proud of how well they did.

    The Post has Marion Barry dying a few hours after being released from the hospital. That’s messed up. I read the Post obit. Who knew Barry had a Masters degree in Chemistry?

    Barry definitely had a mixed record. He reminds me the old-time big city machine politicians. Corrupt as hell, pocketing money in shady deals and taking advantage of the system for his own benefit, but doing a lot for the poorer citizens of his city.
