Needed the paddles so often they melted. “Clear!”
Never say never.
raven
A wella a wella
Adam
Why McCarthy didn’t go for it at least once when he was a yard away on fourth down in the first half is beyond me. That and pure dumb luck for Seattle doomed us.
Corner Stone
Wow. If AV got bought he should at least make it look a little cleaner than that abortion.
Gin & Tonic
@Corner Stone: Windy up here.
JPL
I’d like the pats to score here..
Corner Stone
What an effort.
JPL
nice
Mike J
Just talked to mom. She heaved a sigh of relief. The DAR is sitting on a stockpile of 100 Seahawk scarves that will now sell like hotcakes, rather than need to be stored until next fall.
jayboat
@Mike J:
It’s the little things. Always.
raven
Luck with a duck!
JPL
@raven: well luck wouldn’t have to worry if it weren’t for that tuck..
corny..i know
BruceFromOhio
Hmm. Thinking Lady Luck favors the bold, but Mr. Luck is gonna watch the SB from his living room.
raven
@JPL: Mollymuck!
Corner Stone
There goes that full grown man, again.
JPL
@efgoldman: When you were younger could you imagine a time that the Sox and Patriots would be powerhouses? I’m only asking because I couldn’t. I still hate the Dolphins for all those times they beat the Pats. Obviously, I have problems holding a grudge.. haha
different-church-lady
Dear Pittsburgh: thank you for giving up on LeGarrette Blount.
Corner Stone
Goodness gracious.
JPL
fk
Corner Stone
Way to be late, Tommy.
raven
There ya go, we don need no stinkin blowout. . .
Betty Cracker
The Bucs used to have LaGarrette Blount. Le sigh.
JPL
@different-church-lady: Except for the disaster that was Hernandez, Bill Belickick does seem to know how to use players.
JPL
@raven: I was hoping to watch Downton at nine..
JPL
Wilfork has been in this position to many times.. he knows better than that
Betty Cracker
Way to drag the feet, Hilton.
raven
@JPL: We’re recording it. The boss is in the middle of a million sewing projects. The worst thing is that she is starting to walk around with those damn paint things, that’s never good.
JPL
@raven: Looks like I’ll be watching it online in the morning.
Corner Stone
Pretty impressive drive by the Colts. I guess everyone else fell asleep?
raven
@Corner Stone: Not everyone.
raven
@JPL: We’ve just finished the 1st season of Broadchurch. Not bad,
JPL
Where’s James Brown. Did Kerry leave him in Paris?
Corner Stone
That damn John Kerry. Goes seamlessly from hugging Frenchies to hugging Krafts.
We know he speaks French. Does anyone know if he speaks wicked smaht?
Steeplejack (tablet)
@Corner Stone:
Had to go do a few things, and I just got caught up on the DVR. Flip or Flop in PIP for commercials. I’ve been addicted to reno shows lately. Weird.
JPL
@raven: I liked it. The second season is suppose to be about how the town recovers.
Corner Stone
There he goes again. Damn.
Corner Stone
@Steeplejack (tablet): There’s not really a lot of mystery involved there.
raven
@JPL: Yea I saw that. The second season of “The Fall” with Gillian Anderson is out now. Damn Brits are some psycho’s!
JPL
@raven: Did you watch Happy Valley?
raven
@JPL: Not yet. But Peaky Blinders was killer.
JPL
@raven: It was excellent but be prepared for not only psych drama but some violence.
raven
@JPL: We had to bail on Luther, the girl couldn’t take it.
JPL
@raven: Thanks. .I just added it.
raven
@JPL: And watch “The Wind that Shakes the Barley” with Cillian Murphy, he’s the main dude in Peaky.
Steeplejack (tablet)
@Corner Stone:
¡Caramba! Just found this show today. But I think I’m in love with Joanna on Fixer Upper.
BruceFromOhio
@raven: Just lined up S1 on Netflix, because Gillian. Haven’t heard or read about it, and its only 12 eps. Noticed each is 59 mins or so.
BruceFromOhio
Ooh, good corner defense. And Indy burns its last TO to break up the rhythm. Will it make a difference?
raven
@BruceFromOhio: We thought Annabelle Wallis from Peaky kind of looks like Gillian. The nose I guess.
JPL
Oh ..crap… Now we have a hail mary.. geez
JPL
nope..
BruceFromOhio
@raven: Hmm. Gillian is a bit narrower in the face, though both are lookers.
JPL
@efgoldman: But he had to practice.
raven
@BruceFromOhio: Yea, it’s the snot locker.
Corner Stone
I hate these fucking commercials for domestic violence.
It’s a hard topic to talk about, granted. But it’s not a topic or subject or etc that I am speechless or breathless about.
Talking to young men about consent and what abuse is should not have an adult, male or female, tongue tied.
BruceFromOhio
@raven: Somehow that particular colloquialism fits neither actor, though I understand the comparison.
And Ms Anderson appears to have done well for herself, snot locker aside. Never thought of gingers quite the same after X-Files, and quite looking forward to this Fall business.
raven
@BruceFromOhio: Parts is parts.
raven
@BruceFromOhio: Julianne Moore has a funny nose and that ain’t hurt her.
BruceFromOhio
@Corner Stone:
True that, however, when the cameras are rolling and its time to speak, it may finally hit home just how serious and awful it is, and give one pause.
Violet
Bill Belichick is wearing a hoodie. With the hood up. Thug life.
FlyingToaster
@Violet: It’s New England. Only Professional Politicians™ refrain from wearing hoodies. Our climate sucks.
BruceFromOhio
@raven: Who knew a little part in The Fugitive would turn so many heads? Gingers are simply splendid.
Tree With Water
Beleichil isn’t THAT smart. I mean, I was taught about eligible receivers when I played P.A.L. flag football as a little kid. What happened on the score was inexcusable for an NFL defense. Especially after what happened to the Ravens last week.
different-church-lady
I bet John Harbaurgh never saw anything like that before.
RobertDSC (Quad Intel Mac)
Every play is a heart stopper. Just want my Pats to win.
JPL
that was a nice catch
JPL
oh shit.. that is bad .. 77 didn’t report.. uhoh..
JPL
sure hope he reported.. nice catch
BruceFromOhio
Thinking that if Colts do not score immediately and decisively on next possession (or if Pats D does not turn into butterflies and exit the premises), Mr Luck will soon be 0-5 against NE.
Corner Stone
Can the Old Man outplay the Young Buck?
I guess we’ll see in a couple weeks.
Corner Stone
@BruceFromOhio: Thinking you may be a football genius.
raven
@BruceFromOhio: It may be time to switch to the Abbey and fast forward through this dog in an hour.
BruceFromOhio
@raven: Not sure I would even bother with fast-forward, just erase the poor thing.
@Corner Stone: I just like to hear myself type.
Corner Stone
“I work the dark net.”
Oh, Patricia Arquette. How could I ever quit you?
I CAN’T.
Corner Stone
I was telling Luck to not throw that fucking ball before he ever let it go.
That’s true, too. No BS.
BruceFromOhio
Mmm, Colt Fricasee with a side of chowdah.
Off to Netflix ….
Corner Stone
That is one full grown fucking man right there.
JPL
@BruceFromOhio: It looks unlikely that indy will win..
just sayin
Steeplejack (tablet)
Interception. Okay, that’s it. My remote finger was getting itchy anyway.
And a touchdown! “Turn out the lights, the part’s over.”
Corner Stone
I could’ve ran from Houston and INT’d that pass Luck threw it was so soft and floaty.
BruceFromOhio
@Corner Stone: In Boyhood she was burning down the house smoking hot as a young mother. Mrrooowwrrrrrr!!
Gin & Tonic
@efgoldman: I think if I were standing in the rain at Gillette I might head to the car now. It is seriously nasty outside, and looking at the radar the worst hasn’t yet arrived.
Corner Stone
@BruceFromOhio: What’s on Netflix tonight?
I smashed through Marco Polo, dog help me, in a couple nights.
Corner Stone
@BruceFromOhio: Continuing with my, “Boobs over Bros” theme, I freakin love her gap toothed smile and beguiling eyes.
And, uh,…her other attributes.
JPL
@Corner Stone: I just hope that Wilson cries after the Super Bowl but this time wondering why the Lord has forsaken him.
JPL
@Corner Stone: PBS has a new mystery .. Grantchester.. I have no idea what it is about though. Raven mentioned several series on Netflix, if you haven’t seen them.
btw is Marco Polo good. I haven’t seen it yet.
Corner Stone
Good Lord. The fourth quarter hasn’t even started yet?
Corner Stone
@JPL:
That is a good question. Is it good? Hmmm. Is it watchable? Hmmm. Would I say others should try it? Hmmm.
It’s not good. It is watchable. I would not recommend it.
If you have some time to kill, give it a look-see. It certainly is not beautifully done, shot, written or acted.
It’s just a time filler. IMO.
Steeplejack (tablet)
@Corner Stone:
Just noticed today that Cox has a load of complete series on demand. May start binge-watching The Wire from start to finish. I had a lot of gaps.
JPL
Blount has been crazy tonight. Seattle’s going to watch the tapes and go “oh..shit”
Corner Stone
This fucking beast. There goes that man, again.
JPL
@Corner Stone: no shit.. he’s like a maniac.. Maybe Indy should suggest a p test.. I’m a NE fan and I’m surprised.
SRW1
Shouldn’t the Mercy Rule come into application right about now?
different-church-lady
At this point you gotta believe the Pats are playing to send a message to Seattle.
JPL
@SRW1: I doubt Tom plays again tonight. Just a wild guess, though.
Corner Stone
@JPL: I think SEA has a much better run defense than the Colts. But still. This is freakin nuts.
Corner Stone
Good Lordt. How do you not see Collins?
And why throw a 5 yard out route at this point?
Corner Stone
Why is Brady still in this contest?
JPL
@Corner Stone: That is just stupid.. I figure that Brady wants to play and bill lets him but it is a stupid move.
drkrick
@efgoldman:
It took a special kind of business ability to do a deal with the Jacksons in 1984 and lose money. The tour did fine, it was purely a case of incompetent dealmaking. Amazing.
Corner Stone
Get all your first and second string peeps out.
SRW1
@Corner Stone:
Post-season TD record?
Corner Stone
WHAT?!?
JPL
omg.. Brady is coming back.. Really someone has to be the adult and put in the second string at this point. .
Corner Stone
Thank the gods.
WTF.
Corner Stone
@JPL: I would have Channing Tatum and a bunch of kevlar bearing fools surround Brady at this point as they escort him to a sound proof room somewhere.
JPL
IMO.. I think Green Bay’s flight home is more uncomfortable than Indy’s. Green Bay should have won that game and Indy ran into a wall with N.E.
different-church-lady
Not bad for a guy whose career was OVER just 3 months ago.
BruceFromOhio
@Corner Stone: @Corner Stone: You mean, she has a splendid rack? Yes, and as I understand it, she is also a rather nice person. Off to see The Fall, though if I could find The Wire (thank you, Steeplejack) I would start that.
Cheers, m’dears. Patriots 35, Sea Hawks 26, you heard it here first.
hilts
The Seahawks should savor their win while they can, because the Pats will kick their goddamn mother fucking asses in 2 weeks.
the Conster
@hilts:
Yes they will. Yes they totally will. The Seahawks had their SB today. Tom Brady is the best and will not be denied his legacy.
p.a.
@hilts: Wish I agreed, but 31-14 Seattle. Wilson won’t have a stinker 2 games in a row. Seahawk strengths are Pats’ weaknesses- their D front v NE O line, their O line and running game v NE defense. Look what Forsett did last week and think what Lynch will do.
Heliopause
@p.a.:
Well, yeah, I hate to break it to them, but Seattle played, by a hundred miles, the worst game they’ve played in several years. And still won.
The last time a team came into a SB against the Seahawks, having just obliterated the NFL record for most underneath passes for yards and points, they got mauled by thirty-something. The Pats will need at least one or two of those trick plays, or Brady hitting a couple of deep seam routes, to win this. The Seahawks are all “been there, done that” against white possession receivers catching a bazillion underneath routes against the zone.
Tree With Water
@hilts: To the cooler with you, Hiltz. Until your delirium passes.
marduk
@Heliopause: Don’t be ridiculous. Seattle got their doors completely blown off by Green Bay. They were never remotely competitive in that game. It took a serious of ludicrous derps by the Packers in the final minutes just to get them to overtime. The team we saw play in Seattle loses to the Pats by 3 touchdowns.
