Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Do not shrug your shoulders and accept the normalization of untruths.

Hot air and ill-informed banter

Republicans are the party of chaos and catastrophe.

DeSantis transforms Florida into 1930s Germany with gators and theme parks.

Reality always lies in wait for … Democrats.

We still have time to mess this up!

You can’t love your country only when you win.

Black Jesus loves a paper trail.

I’d hate to be the candidate who lost to this guy.

Russian mouthpiece, go fuck yourself.

Anyone who bans teaching American history has no right to shape America’s future.

Never entrust democracy to any process that requires republicans to act in good faith.

Incompetence, fear, or corruption? why not all three?

Not all heroes wear capes.

There are consequences to being an arrogant, sullen prick.

Republicans are radicals, not conservatives.

fuckem (in honor of the late great efgoldman)

Authoritarian republicans are opposed to freedom for the rest of us.

Second rate reporter says what?

“I never thought they’d lock HIM up,” sobbed a distraught member of the Lock Her Up Party.

Give the craziest people you know everything they want and hope they don’t ask for more? Great plan.

“Everybody’s entitled to be an idiot.”

I’m pretty sure there’s only one Jack Smith.

I know this must be bad for Joe Biden, I just don’t know how.

    @Corner Stone: @Corner Stone: You mean, she has a splendid rack? Yes, and as I understand it, she is also a rather nice person. Off to see The Fall, though if I could find The Wire (thank you, Steeplejack) I would start that.

    Cheers, m’dears. Patriots 35, Sea Hawks 26, you heard it here first.

    The Seahawks should savor their win while they can, because the Pats will kick their goddamn mother fucking asses in 2 weeks.

    @hilts:

    Yes they will. Yes they totally will. The Seahawks had their SB today. Tom Brady is the best and will not be denied his legacy.

    @hilts: Wish I agreed, but 31-14 Seattle. Wilson won’t have a stinker 2 games in a row. Seahawk strengths are Pats’ weaknesses- their D front v NE O line, their O line and running game v NE defense. Look what Forsett did last week and think what Lynch will do.

    @p.a.:

    Well, yeah, I hate to break it to them, but Seattle played, by a hundred miles, the worst game they’ve played in several years. And still won.

    The last time a team came into a SB against the Seahawks, having just obliterated the NFL record for most underneath passes for yards and points, they got mauled by thirty-something. The Pats will need at least one or two of those trick plays, or Brady hitting a couple of deep seam routes, to win this. The Seahawks are all “been there, done that” against white possession receivers catching a bazillion underneath routes against the zone.

    @Heliopause: Don’t be ridiculous. Seattle got their doors completely blown off by Green Bay. They were never remotely competitive in that game. It took a serious of ludicrous derps by the Packers in the final minutes just to get them to overtime. The team we saw play in Seattle loses to the Pats by 3 touchdowns.
