Also too: OTTERZ!!!
John Revolta
We all need to love each otter.

Thank you. Just got news that a colleague at work died unexpectedly from complications of what we thought was a treatable cancer. Not a happy time, so otters are welcome.
Yatsuno
@dmsilev: Damn that sucks. So does cancer.
dmsilev
@Yatsuno: Yeah, no fun at all. It’s the second person we’ve lost (both to cancer) in the last three or four months. Sigh.

@dmsilev: Sorry to hear that, and I offer condolences.

Last night in LA and it’s…raining! I suppose that will allow the 27% in CA to call Al Gore fat for a night or so, before it goes back to being the usual drought-ly weather that is going to turn this state into a desert over time.
Meeting an old friend for dinner and drinks, and then I think I’m going to hit the sack. Did a relatively long drive to the middle of the desert to see my grandmother, who, despite her very right-wing politics, I love dearly for helping support my mom when she was young, single, and trying to handle the both of us when we were a bit more rambunctious than we are now.

@PsiFighter37:
Umm…I’ve met you. Unless you were REALLY wild as a child, I don’t think you’ve slowed down that much.

We let Keaton and Charlotte mix and mingle a bit today, but there was a big hiss-fest over the bedroom closet. Solution for now: keep that door closed and try again tomorrow.

@dmsilev: Very sorry to hear of your losses. Especially hard when the signs seemed hopeful. May they RIP
Corner Stone
@PsiFighter37:
Going to reminiscence about the last 10 years of your post-adulthood?
And then what, back to your life in the Flatiron BLDG on 5th Ave and 23rd?
Tommy
@PsiFighter37: My only liberal family member other than myself is in LA. Stick our hand out of the window of your car and wave for me. We only tend to see each other when somebody in our family gets married or dies. He keeps saying come see me in LA man, we can have some fun. I might need to fire off an email to Greg and ask what his schedule looks like the next couple months.
Mike E
@Corner Stone: My buddy had an apt at 12 E 22nd…we would admire that landmark from his roof, pretty cool.

“Edge of Tomorrow” is on cable. I’m not a Tom Cruise fan, but he’s pretty good as a cowardly PR officer.
lamh36
@Mnemosyne (iPad Mini): I saw EoT in the theatre. I really enjoy it. I’m no Cruuse fan so when I tell you I really liked I mean it. It was way better than I predicted and I actually like Cruise alot ij it. He should do more action conedy. really though, Emily Blunt was the real star and in a change of pace for Cruise, the female lead was the actully star of the action.
So, I haven’t ordered movie from Cox On Demand yet, but I’m thinking I’ma order John Wick with Keanu Reeves. I heard it was good. If I like it I may buy it on Blu Ray.

@lamh36:
I’m liking it so far. It’s like “Groundhog Day” as a war movie.

My Otter Story: I was the only one in a small boat of real fishermen off Half Moon Bay, California that was pleased when a sea otter suddenly popped up and began to hang out with us. They were business-like fishermen, intent on catching fish. I was a sightseer with a line in the water. The otter was bad for the fish business, so we weighed anchor and moved.

speaking of movies that I want to see, I cannot tell ya much I looking forward to that new movie...Kingsman
As always, I.AM.HERE.FOR.COLIN.FIRTH!!!
One of my fav scenes in Bridget Jones Diary 1/2 is the fight scenes between Colin Firth and Hugh Grant. It was played as two ole white dude who were more windmills than putting up dukes…lol. For Kingsman, Mark Darcy learned to kick ass!!!
The smartest thing the Kingsman movie PR team ever did was to keep the clips of Colin Firth in action, cause I’m def here for Colin Firth!
Kingsman: The Secret Service – Mark Millar on Movie's Most Shocking Scene
I keep reading about this church scene fight sequence that we see a small glimpse of in the trailers, but not much…all you see is Colin Firth, gun in hand punching some guy out…I.CAN’T.WAIT!
the only complete fight sequence they’ve released is this one earlier I the film when Firth’s character is “introduced”

@dmsilev: Very sorry to hear about your colleague.
A co-worker’s wife died in a car accident last week — just 35 years old. They have a four year old boy. Damned shame.

Deadspin.com is reporting a Princess Diana-like scenario- Bruce Jenner claims the pursuing papparazi caused him to rear end another vehicle into oncoming traffic near Malibu. One confirmed dead…

I can’t wait for this movie!

@rikyrah: Me three.
I love the interview Renee Zellweiger did of Colin Firth, asking him about the scene in Pride and Prejudice where he takes off his shirt and dives into the big pond at Pemberley.
PsiFighter37
@Mike E: Dude, why are you outing yourself as an elitist to Corner? Now he’s going to rag on you for even existing.
Tree With Water
@sm*t cl*de: Two years ago a couple of otters staked their claim to a section of creek in the city of Sonoma, Ca. I walked that stretch a lot, and mentioned how great I thought it was to a more informed individual, who proceeded to explain the havoc the cute little bastards had wreaked with other wildlife during their extended visit. I guess that’s my other otter story.
By the way, the Jenner traffic fatality accident now sounds like a worst case scenario involving tailgaters, speed, and sudden braking..

Ah, otters. Did y’all hear about the endangered golden lion tamarin monkey who fell into a lake at the Brisol Zoo and was eaten by American otters? There’s a metaphor in there.
