Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

The cruelty is the point; the law be damned.

Michigan is a great lesson for Dems everywhere: when you have power…use it!

Meanwhile over at truth Social, the former president is busy confessing to crimes.

It’s easy to sit in safety and prescribe what other people should be doing.

I didn’t have alien invasion on my 2023 BINGO card.

… riddled with inexplicable and elementary errors of law and fact

There’s always a light at the end of the frog.

I was promised a recession.

I’d hate to be the candidate who lost to this guy.

Shallow, uninformed, and lacking identity

In my day, never was longer.

Nikki Haley, who can’t acknowledge ‘slavery’, is a pathetic shill.

New McCarthy, same old McCarthyism.

The choice is between normal and crazy.

The poor and middle-class pay taxes, the rich pay accountants, the wealthy pay politicians.

It’s a doggy dog world.

The current Supreme Court is a rogue court. Very dangerous.

Technically true, but collectively nonsense

Bad news for Ron DeSantis is great news for America.

An unpunished coup is a training exercise.

American History and Black History can not be separated.

… pundit janitors mopping up after the gop

Wake up. Grow up. Get in the fight.

Let me eat cake. The rest of you could stand to lose some weight, frankly.

It’s never easy being a Kentucky fan, because everybody hates you and roots against your team, even when they don’t always deserve the hate the way Duke does. But when Kentucky is the hulking 600 pound gorilla in a tournament with 63 lovable scrappy underdogs, it’s even worse.

If the good Major x4 is still around, my advice is the Villa Borghese. Which is not the same as the Borghese Museum. “Villa Borghese” refers to the huge park the museum is located in. The park has the usual playgrounds and stuff for the kiddies and absolutely tremendous views of Rome (like all the other important stuff in Rome, it’s on top of a big hill).

Other good ideas: the Spanish Steps (and surrounding shopping district), Trevi Fountain in the early evening, and just about any church you walk by. You never know which one will randomly have a Caravaggio hidden away in an alcove. They’re the best free show in Rome.

OT JC I emailed you about Ginger and haven’t heard anything back. Did you actually get the email or did I send it to the wrong address? I have a friend in a national rescue organization that is willing to try to send someone out to Mary G for a home inspection if that’s still viable. It won’t be easy to find a forever home for a senior diabetic dog and if Mary G wants her, I’d like to see it happen. At least let me know if you want to pursue this idea. I told her that transport would be no problem, that Mary has resources to take care of that. (BJ would help, I know.) It’s just that I have no personal info on how to contact Mary to get the ball rolling on the home inspection. SW (my friend) needs an address and phone number to get an idea of where the group is to send out for this. It included habanero syrup and ginger.

She declared it the best mixed drink she ever had.

Me, I’m simple and love an Old Fashioned done great.
