Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

He really is that stupid.

Motto for the House: Flip 5 and lose none.

Democrats have delivered the Square Deal, the New Deal, the Fair Deal, and now… the Big Joe Biden Deal.

It may be funny to you motherfucker, but it’s not funny to me.

Anyone who bans teaching American history has no right to shape America’s future.

Incompetence, fear, or corruption? why not all three?

A lot of Dems talk about what the media tells them to talk about. Not helpful.

When someone says they “love freedom”, rest assured they don’t mean yours.

He imagines himself as The Big Bad, Who Is Universally Feared… instead of The Big Jagoff, Who Is Universally Mocked.

So many bastards, so little time.

Insiders who complain to politico: please report to the white house office of shut the fuck up.

My years-long effort to drive family and friends away has really paid off this year.

There are a lot more evil idiots than evil geniuses.

Sadly, media malpractice has become standard practice.

Be a traveling stable for those who can’t find room at the inn.

They traffic in fear. it is their only currency. if we are fearful, they are winning.

They fucked up the fucking up of the fuckup!

A thin legal pretext to veneer over their personal religious and political desires.

Maybe you would prefer that we take Joelle’s side in ALL CAPS?

I wonder if trump will be tried as an adult.

Republicans choose power over democracy, every day.

Putin dreamed of ending NATO, and now it’s Finnish-ed.

Caught Steve relaxing:

stevegroom

As soon as the puppies saw me paying attention to him, they had to get in on the act, and Steve was not pleased:

ohfuckthisshit

And then there were two:

tothevictors

Bonus Video!

What is Lovey doing? Beats me. Polishing her nails after her trim yesterday would be my guess.

Notice how as soon as he is in a picture, Thurston starts posing. I’ll post some pics of Ginger tomorrow when I get some good ones.

What Lovey is doing is what we call “tamping the grass”. A lot of dogs circle around three times or have some ritual that they do before trying to lay down. When they scratch at the cover and start trying to rearrange it (with her teeth and feet), she’s just trying to get the comfy bits arranged so she gets the best spot. She quit when Thurston got up there to hog it.

Off topic, but is there anyway Boehner’s citizenship can be revoked while he’s out of the country.

    http://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way/2015/03/20/394313290/boehner-plans-trip-to-israel

House Speaker John Boehner plans to travel to Israel at the end of the month, close on the heels of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s re-election and the Israeli leader’s controversial address to Congress.

Although there are no details on who he might meet in Israel, Boehner “looks forward to visiting the country, discussing our shared priorities for peace and security in the region, and further strengthening the bond between the United States and Israel,” his spokesman, Kevin Smith, said in a statement.

As The Associated Press notes: “On the surface, the Republican leader’s announcement Friday that he’ll visit Israel looks like a jab at the White House.”

However, a congressional aide who spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity insisted the visit was planned before Netanyahu’s speech to a joint meeting of Congress, which criticized White House policy on Iran and broke protocol by not first getting the traditional nod from the president.

Wife and daughter got to see Michelle Obama yesterday – they’re staying at the same hotel in Siem Reap in Cambodia.

As I put it – they got closer to Vietnam than either Dick Cheney or George Bush ever did.

Kid got to work on a freshly de-mined archaeological site in the Angkor Wat complex for a few days. That took some major government wrangling. There’s a great shot of her with the workers (who were amused that she was swinging a pickaxe with them) – she’s a full head taller than all of them.

    This is insane.

Among whites, Obama notched his largest gains among the group traditionally most receptive to Democrats: white women holding at least a four-year college degree. His approval rating among those upscale women spiked to 53 percent, up from 45 percent last fall; since 2010, Obama has ranked higher with college white women only once. Cindy Harrison, who works for the federal courts in St. Louis, is one of those women mostly positive on the president. “I remember before he took office, when things were going in the tank and Republicans weren’t doing anything,” she says. “He came in and took the bull by the horns.” These college white women, whose support for Obama declined in 2012, could be critical to Democratic hopes of succeeding him in 2016: Both national and state polls have consistently found Hillary Clinton improving on Obama’s performance with this steadily growing group in early tests against possible GOP nominees.

With other whites, Obama’s situation remains much more precarious. He drew positive approval ratings from just 26 percent of noncollege white men, 33 percent of college-educated white men, and 34 percent of white women without a college degree.

    Hey Front Pagers,

I too have a life that I could be living. Some of understand the importance of sacrifice. How about a new post?

Puppies are cute, but, ahem, the lighting technique needs some work, Mr cameraman. The wall works as a diffuser, but the light source is too far to the side/back of the scene.

    @Randy P:

To hell with that. The opportunity to be firmly on the right side of history comes to a precious few in this world. I’m going to relish every minute of it.

This is great – they’ve integrated chunks of Alien, Aliens, and the original Star Trek Motion Picture bore fest along with “hide your kids hide your wife” into seamlessly cheesy plot lines.

Now we have hot girls in bikinis.

@Botsplainer: I hope there’s a car chase. And zombies. Those go with any genre.

The pups who have the run of the house are so acclimated to humans and other pets, they will easily feel at home in their new digs.

@Randy P: Dog whistles work, that’s why the GOP keeps using them. I am also quite sure that the numbers would differ greatly from state to state.

ETA: Jackals and hyenas of BJ seem to be mostly immune, so that’s definitely a good thing.

Security guard sidekick already referenced zombies. And there was just an epic chase scene, spider chasing exterminator truck.

What Lovey is doing is what we call “tamping the grass”

That’s so funny. In our family we’ve always called it ‘getting the snakes out..’

Lovey is doing what our dear departed Popcorn used to do, rearranging the pillow to her specifications. We used to call her our inferior decorator.

    @Baud:

With other whites, Obama’s situation remains much more precarious. He drew positive approval ratings from just 26 percent of noncollege white men, 33 percent of college-educated white men, and 34 percent of white women without a college degree.

Wow. Thank god I’m a white woman with more than a 4-year college degree, otherwise I would be trying to figure out some way to not be identified with the groups of people represented in that paragraph.

It’s always good to get that first “What the fuck is wrong with these people?” out of the way early in the day.

If I can digress from the critique of Cole’s photographic and videographic skills (which critique seems to be to be a tad counterproductive if the idea is to get him to post more pictures and videos) . . . do we have any idea from the vet about how big those puppies are going to be when they’re full-growed goggies?

Because those are just some big-ass damn puppies to have come out of such a tiny mommy.

Yeah, Lovey is nesting, or trying to. In the wild, she’d be doing that to a pile of leaves. We have a bunch of throws we keep around for our little dogs, and they work them all around like that until they can get them properly arranged to curl up in. The big dog (Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd mix) has a foam mattress dog bed, and it has a hole from him pawing at it.

Thurston is such a ham. A big, chunky ham.

    @Baud: Utterly insane.

@NCSteve: I don’t suppose we know who the daddy is? Obviously a larger-than-poodle breed.
