Email from blog favorite commentor Yatsuno / Yutsano:
So my schedule got compressed because of circumstance and I’ll now be in Seattle this weekend from the 7th through the 10th…
I know this is VERY last minute but if anyone wants to meet up for dinner (Looking at you CaseyL!) that would be great! I’m also open to brunch on Sunday before I haul over the mountains back home.
As of now no plans for the weekend before the surgery but that’s still in discussions with my mom. But possibly a Memorial Day thing could happen too!
Leave a comment if you’re interested / have suggestions as to venue. Or if you’re too shy, send me an email (click on my name in the right-hand column, or annelaurie at verizon dot net) and I’ll forward it…

Well, I’m sure you’re sad I can’t make it, but Japonessa (sushi) was great. Not Vancouver, but respectable. Everyone was nice there.
Once you get out the door though, it’s like the walking through the airport in Airport.
Manhandled by panhandlers more in three blocks than a decade in SF.
Purple Cafe was ok too.

Woo hoo! You’re back in town and it’s been forever since we had a chance to chat! I would love to get together… tomorrow night I have a thing, but dinner Friday is possible.
If what we want is drinks/dinner/room for many people, there’s Elliot Bay Brewery on Lake City Way. Possibly the Matador in Ballard.

Tomorrow I’m busy, Saturday, I’m dockmastering through the afternoon.

Looks like two votes for Sunday and one vote Friday. Sundays are a no go here but don’t let it not happen on account of me. I’ve been to Elliot Bay Brewery. I took a date there since I had a buy one get one entertainment coupon. Anyways hope everyone is doing well.

@PhilbertDesanex: Sunday is Mother’s day. I don’t think you’re going to be able to get within a block of any place serving brunch.

Sure! Coastal Kitchen? Cafe Presse?! Their terrine is to die for. And cheap.

Sunday’s out (though not because of Mother’s Day), but I’m in for Friday or Saturday. Tomorrow would be a bit hard for me, as I tutor until 8:00 pm (unless things are still going at that point).

I can’t guarantee having the energy to drag myself out of the house (I blame the toddler) but I adore the Elliot Bay Brewery on LCW. Good beer AND free parking AND good beer. Sounds like Friday might be the best option?
CaseyL
Friday evening at Elliott Bay Brewery, then?
pete mack
@CaseyL: Friday is fine. I still am holding out for Cafe Presse. It’s a fantastic local.

I’ve been feeling an urge to see the Dale Chihuly Museum and visit bead and yarn shops in Seattle (they are supposed to be good). And I’d love to be part of a Seattle meet-up. Maybe I should start planning a trip now so I could be ready for a future meet-up.

@PurpleGirl: Trouble with this is that Seattle Center is a bit of a no-mans-land for bars. The best bet for this is Toulouse Petit. Which is a great place, all in all.
CaseyL
@pete mack: Cafe Presse looks amazing – but it’s in Capital Hill, where parking is hell.

@CaseyL: I’m with you on Elliot Bay Brewery on LCW. Also downtowners can get the ST522 at 6th and Pike, which is express from downtown and makes its first stop right across from the Brewery! So it’s a 15 minute ride and the bus runs every 1/2 hour most of the time. Of course folks could get on before 6th and Pike.
CaseyL
We seem to agree on a venue… what time can everyone be there by? Do we want to meet early (like 7:00) or late (like 8:00)?
EthylEster
@CaseyL: it’s friday morning. I’m going to aim for 7 pm unless somebody weighs in here PDQ. It’s easy for me to write this because I live close enough to the Brewery to show up and then if no one is there, twiddle my thumbs in beautiful downtown Lake City….
CaseyL
@EthylEster: Great; thanks – I’ll see you around 7:00.
