I wish I could dredge up a fuck to give about these people. There was a time, say, for the past 70-some years up until about last Thursday, when I was a compassionate person. But I really am out of sympathy, empathy, pity, caring, and fucks. As long as they kill just each other and not genuinely innocent bystanders, they’re contributing to the health of the gene pool by removing themselves from it. I’m done with them.
Suzanne
@Jon Wiesman: When white assholes commit crime, it’s got NOTHING to do with their shitty sociocultural issues. Durrrrr.
feebog
@SiubhanDuinne:
The problem is, all too often, there are innocent bystanders who get caught in the middle with all the bullets flying around. But hey, what’s a few innocent lives when you can ensure the right to kill anyone you don’t like on shight?

It’s all a big misunderstanding. Someone told them they were going to shoot a commercial for the NRA and they took it literally.

@feebog:
Yeah, that’s why I put in the qualifier “As long as they kill just each other and not genuinely innocent bystanders.” I certainly have great funds of compassion for the innocent lives.

We had a gun scare the other day at the courthouse. They had “information” someone was bringing a gun to court. The clerk called me to notify me because I was due in and I went and the “information” was bad and no one brought a gun to court but we had county police all over the place.
I just love how insane this whole thing is. This person that was supposedly bringing the gun is not the most stable fellow you’ll ever meet, and apparently it’s only a problem that he may be armed when he enters certain secure places.
The rest of you are just on your own out in the street, your workplace, the movies, whatever. Good luck out there!

A “good old fashioned shootout” versus a bad old fashioned shootout, I guess.
Sad how so many people put guns above human beings. Not even the murder of scores of children has changed anything when it comes to sensible gun control. Oh well.
Howard Beale IV
Impressive. breakingnews.com said 18 were injured, so maybe more will shuffle off the moral coil.
Now let’s see how quickly they account for how many of these firearms were legal and all that other superfluous noise, and how quickly the NRA issues a (-cough-) statement.
KCEN was the one that threw the alert to breakingnews.com-I suggest we hound them to do the due diligence to follow up.

That’ll get some Texans’ minds off Blue Bell Ice Cream laying off one third of its workforce.
And — had that been a shootout among Republican grifter-candidates rather than bikers — organizers would still be looking at eleven candidates up there during the debates. Still a lot of clowns taking the stage.
Kay
And it would have ended exactly the same without the guns, so stop discriminating against guns.
Obviously they would have simply beaten 9 people to death, because that always happens in bar fights.

That the gunman are being reported as white makes me wonder if this isn’t a false flag operation.
Just Some Fuckhead
This happened because white southerners cannot integrate themselves into American society. You never see Asians grouping together while sporting copious amounts of leather, denim and face hair. Every Asian person has a very simple old American first name that symbolizes their desire for integration. Virtually every biker has a strange nickname that symbolizes their lack of desire for integration.

In a way, though, it’s not entirely their fault. They come from a population that barely reaches “average” in IQ, and between the meth, the single parents, and the country music, the culture they are raised in is a roiling dysfunctional mess. You can’t expect them to cope in modern American society.

@Roger Moore: That was a quote from a professor at Duke university, not a statement of fact.
Just Some Fuckhead
@Jane2: I think a good portion of the blame should go to the music these thugs listen to. I’ve heard them blaring their outlaw country music, reveling in lyrics that condone antisocial behavior and glorify prison. One song in particular admonishes one to quit working by telling their employer to put the job in his ass.
Roger Moore
@Jane2:
Incorrect. There is plenty of popular will to do something about it- some of the simplest things like closing the gun show loophole are supported by about 90% of the population- but it isn’t a high priority issue. To some extent, I think this is because crime isn’t as big an issue as it used to be. Murder rates have dropped dramatically over the past generation, and they’re continuing to trend down. Most people aren’t willing to make gun control a front-burner issue because gun violence is actually declining in spite of easier access to weapons. Unfortunately, for the handful of gun crazies out there, it really is a front-burner issue, so you run into the classic problem of a small, dedicated minority winning politically over a large but less engaged majority.

I’m not trying to come off as anti-white. I have white friends and most of them are articulate and well-behaved. As a people, they are generally industrious, clever and amiable. The break up of the White family. Whites not taking education seriously, instead focusing of sports and video games. No work ethic. Drugs. No White fathers at home. Kent
I live a couple of miles from where this happened. What astonishes me from the local reporting is that it seems like the management of the Twin Peaks restaurant pretty much invited in these biker gangs and tried to make it into their local hangout. This is a corporate chain which I’ve never actually been in but sounds sort of like a version of Hooters. But the location is the typical big box mall area next to Panera, Best Buy, Cabelas, Bed Bath and Beyond. So it’s total normal suburbia. Used to be that the biker bars were hole in the wall roadhouse type joints way out on the edge of town. It just seems really weird that a corporate restaurant chain would be inviting them all in like that. And it is a very central location about equidistant from Dallas/Fort Worth, Austin, and Houston so pretty much 90% of the bikers in Texas could be there within 2-3 hours.
On the plus side, the only seem to have shot themselves up. On the minus side, our local police will probably be walking around in SWAT gear for the rest of the summer.
Wouldn’t want to be a biker riding towards Waco right now. The Highway Patrol is going to have zero sense of humor about that. Rumor on the local news is that bikers from around Texas are riding towards Waco for God only knows what reason. There will be a bazillion local cops waiting for them that is for sure.
I just get the feeling that this isn’t over yet and we haven’t heard the whole story.
Kent
By the way, Waco does have a distinct biker bar outlaw culture. For example:
http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/billy-joe-shaver-found-not-guilty-for-shooting-on-the-scene-in-waco-20100412
But they usually stay out on the fringes of town. It doesn’t normally spill over into the corporate retail areas.
rococo
I call it a good start…
Roger Moore
@Kent:
They’re a corporate restaurant, which means their highest value is the almighty dollar. If biker gangs provide a steady business, they’ll take it.
Howard Beale IV
@NotMax: what’s amazing is that these nanocephalic mouthbreathers would be even willing to brand themselves with such obvious labels. How unbelievably incredible. Then again, we are talking about Texas, so all bets are off.
Kent
@Howard Beale IV:
Actually outlaw biker gangs is more of a California thing. Yes they are everywhere, but California is actually the epicenter. You can blame Texas for a lot but being the cradle of biker gangs isn’t one of them.
formernap
Yup
Texas just took it to the next level. Way to go, idjits.
BubbaDave
@Kent:
Hell, I’m not even sure that any of them can be convicted. Sure, some drunk and disorderly, probably possession of various controlled substances, maybe intent to distribute. But the actual homicides? “Your honor, my client was in fear for his life — clearly a justified fear, as his friend JimBob was actually slain in this confrontation — and according to the laws of the great State of Texas he was entitled to defend himself. The prosecution has argued that a reasonable response would be to flee the scene, but there is no longer a duty to retreat — my client has the right to stand his ground and defend himself with lethal force. My client, in fear of his life, stood his ground and defended himself. The law is clear, and I therefore request that you dismiss this case.”
Tree With Water
@BubbaDave: I just re-opened this thread and began reading from the bottom, and admit it hadn’t occurred to me how necessarily weird the upcoming trial(s) will be. America is exceptional, no doubt about it- no nation on earth comes close to matching the breadth, depth, and scale of our country’s ongoing three ring circus.
Tree With Water
@Kent: The NY times reports: “Later, in a phone interview, [a spokesman] said the company was “seriously considering revoking the franchise based on this situation.”
Baby steps. Better they need time to think it over than they dismiss the idea outright, I suppose. Reading between the lines of the report, it’s obvious the Waco cops are pissed off out of their minds. If there’s a legal thread to hang charges on the franchise owner in question, it’s as good as done.
David Koch
Those people are savages.
Proves you can take the Whites out of the hicks, but you can’t take the hicks out of the Whites.
opiejeanne
@Kent: Yes, the Hell’s Angels were born in Fontana. Not sure there are all that many biker gangs in California these days, but we used to see them on the freeway sometimes. There was a bar in Big Bear that was a biker bar, a place called Chad’s. We used to tease our kids about taking them to Chad’s for supper. It’s probably all cleaned up these days.
Aleta
These pictures of the bikers sitting around on the curbside and the grass, checking their phones ? Shouldn’t they be face down in handcuffs, occasionally getting tazed, for looking suspicious?
