Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Let’s not be the monsters we hate.

An almost top 10,000 blog!

Give the craziest people you know everything they want and hope they don’t ask for more? Great plan.

The Supreme Court cannot be allowed to become the ultimate, unaccountable arbiter of everything.

We’ve had enough carrots to last a lifetime. break out the sticks.

The words do not have to be perfect.

Dead end MAGA boomers crying about Talyor Swift being a Dem is my kind of music. Turn it up.

We know you aren’t a Democrat but since you seem confused let me help you.

Let me file that under fuck it.

It’s easy to sit in safety and prescribe what other people should be doing.

When someone says they “love freedom”, rest assured they don’t mean yours.

I’d try pessimism, but it probably wouldn’t work.

“I never thought they’d lock HIM up,” sobbed a distraught member of the Lock Her Up Party.

Nothing says ‘pro-life’ like letting children go hungry.

When I decide to be condescending, you won’t have to dream up a fantasy about it.

Republicans would impeach Biden if he bit into a whole Kit Kat rather than breaking the sections apart.

It’s the corruption, stupid.

JFC, are there no editors left at that goddamn rag?

“What are Republicans afraid of?” Everything.

Polls are now a reliable indicator of what corporate Republicans want us to think.

Peak wingnut was a lie.

Somebody needs to explain to DeSantis that nobody needs to do anything to make him look bad.

American History and Black History can not be separated.

Let’s delete this post and never speak of this again.

Thank you so much for this thread. I am going to have to multitask between game watching and class preparations but no way I can miss the Messi show.

The South American Trident as they are calling it is kind of an amazing collaborative between three big players, kind of amazing it works so well. And me not a fan of Suarez and all saying this.

I think Juve wins the Douchebag Hairstyle Cup pretty cleanly.

@? Martin: yes, that Vidal haircut is ugh.

Morata is one to watch on Juve, he’s very good.

Glad to see Juve waking up a bit. But Vidal is playing so aggressively, I am afraid he might get a red card soon.

Barca in control during the first half, but they better get a second. Juve is well capable of conjuring something out of not much.

    @Valdivia:

Did the ref ever blow a final whistle, or did the games just end by general consent?

  26. 26.

    Valdivia

    June 6, 2015 at 4:52 pm

@SRW1: I didn’t hear a whistle but even the Juve players were signaling time so I think it was general consent.

I predicted a 3-1 final for Barca, but Juventus kept it tighter than I though they were going to.

As much as it pains me to say this about an Argie, Lionel Messi has clearly had the best club career of any star player in the modern era.

@Cacti: As much as it pains me too, I can’t disagree. He really is extraordinary and unlike Maradona who can be a bit of an a-hole, Messi seems totally with the head in the game and down to earth (I know, personal opinions on Maradona are very contentious)

Maybe someone more in the know can tell me: Why did Real Madrid let Morata go? He is clearly very good and makes things happen in the most needed moments. I also never understood why RM did so little with Khedira.

    @Valdivia:

And if Benitez goes ahead with the supposed plan to run a 4-2-3-1, Khedira will bolt, because he will get zero starts unless CR7 is injured.

He’d look good running alongside Olivier Giroud. He’d look even better running alongside Daniel Sturridge. He’d look best of all running alongside Romelu Lukaku, but that’s not happening.

    June 6, 2015 at 5:55 pm

@burnspbesq: I saw some criticism that Ancelotti had very little say in who they brought in last year so he ended up with some great players that did not fulfill the needs of the team, or his vision for the team. I think if Benitez gets a say maybe whatever changes happen will be in accordance to what he has in mind and not just the caprice of Florentino Perez. Again, this is just speculation based on snippets I have read.

Khedira is a great player it would be nice to see him picked up by one of those clubs.
