Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Proof that we need a blogger ethics panel.

Quote tweet friends, screenshot enemies.

A thin legal pretext to veneer over their personal religious and political desires.

This isn’t Democrats spending madly. This is government catching up.

“In the future, this lab will be a museum. don’t touch it.”

That’s my take and I am available for criticism at this time.

When someone says they “love freedom”, rest assured they don’t mean yours.

You cannot shame the shameless.

There are consequences to being an arrogant, sullen prick.

Republicans got rid of McCarthy. Democrats chose not to save him.

We still have time to mess this up!

If you’re pissed about Biden’s speech, he was talking about you.

The Supreme Court cannot be allowed to become the ultimate, unaccountable arbiter of everything.

Is it negotiation when the other party actually wants to shoot the hostage?

The cruelty is the point; the law be damned.

The current Supreme Court is a rogue court. Very dangerous.

“I never thought they’d lock HIM up,” sobbed a distraught member of the Lock Her Up Party.

He really is that stupid.

Consistently wrong since 2002

Putin must be throwing ketchup at the walls.

Never entrust democracy to any process that requires Republicans to act in good faith.

Republicans choose power over democracy, every day.

They’re not red states to be hated; they are voter suppression states to be fixed.

If senate republicans had any shame, they’d die of it.

Is there an online link to the USA match? I don’t have Fox Sports 1 in my subscription package.

Salon.com reports that a Greenwood, Colorado family had their house destroyed by a local militia that masquerades as a police department. I wonder where they procured the explosives that destroyed the family’s house? Not that it matters, because according to the militia unit, it’s not their problem anymore.

    Is that the correct game?

“I’m not one who thinks that our particular template of democracy is appropriate for other countries at every moment of their histories. The idea that we could fashion a democracy in Iraq seemed to me unrealistic. I was concerned about it when I first heard those words.” Donald Rumsfeld 2015

This is a man whose ass the democratic party leadership continues to cover for lack of courage to denounce a plot to war.

@raven: Yep, according to the FIFA web page, which shows it 15 minutes in.

@raven: Yes. It is on Fox Sports 2. USA kick off in 15 minutes or so on Fox Sports 1

Man, looks like some huge-ass thunder storms are moving in later tonight. This has been one weird spring. Temps shoot up to nearly 90 one day, the next night they almost tumble down into the 40’s, making us think about turning the heat back on.

I only watched the highlights, since I watched the US vs Australia match live. But that Ecuador red card was bogus. Seems that the refs have been trained to crack down on tackling from behind, but the result is they’re calling every little trip from behind.
