Let’s go Bolts!
The Lightning’s regular goalie, Mr. Bishop, is out for the evening due to an unspecified injury. In front of the net will be Mr. Vasilevsky, quite recently an infant.
Should be interesting!

Who is American Pharow playing for?

@efgoldman: I’ve only visited a fraction of total MLB venues, but it would be hard to surpass the Trop for pure awfulness. It has the ambiance of a Sam’s Club. Plus it’s so ill situated (separated from the major population center by lengthy bridges that tend to snarl in heavy traffic) that it would struggle even if it were a palace. They’ll either figure out how to fix that shit or lose the team.

What I want to know is Stanley Who, and why do we care about his cup? His balls are his problem, not mine.

@efgoldman: Miami is suffering the Curse of Jeffrey Loria, which is to say the worst thing possible: Loria is interested in your team, Mr or Ms Anyfan.
Roger Moore
@efgoldman:
Having management that didn’t actively discourage fans in an attempt to prove that the old stadium was scaring them away might have helped in Miami. There’s nothing wrong with the Marlins that can’t be solved by putting together a winning team, and then not breaking them up as soon as they’ve won something.

@efgoldman: I’ll give you that for the Bolts. (Go Bolts! by the way) The Cavaliers just prove that the NBA will do whatever it takes to keep Lebron from losing. The officiating, in all the major sports, is horrendously inconsistent.

@efgoldman: I think they’d succeed. Tampa is a decent sports town. The Lightning maintain a respectable fan base despite the fact that hockey isn’t a natural fit for the region. The Bucs are supported even when they suck, which is more often than not.

@efgoldman: i think they do. In fact, their TV play-by-play guy was the play-by-play guy for my AHL team in the 80’s…

OT, for fellow fans of Wonkette and its Fearless Leader the Editrix – it looks like this time the baby is really ready to make her entrance into the world, according to her hubby:

Bolts responding with some good pressure now.
Linnaeus
Golden opportunity for Chicago there.

@efgoldman:
You bet.

Wow. Intense. Crawford denied Stamkos point blank.

Well, that was an exciting 2 minutes or so.

@efgoldman:
I just want seven games. More playoff hockey is better.

That was some terrific finish and I’m not really a hockey fan.
I could see myself getting into though.

I’m a recent convert, and yep, it was the playoffs last year that hooked me. When the regular season started, I was puzzled that the games just didn’t seem as exciting…. But it grows on you, especially as you get to know your team better.
Avoid the All-Star game, though. It’s like you’re not even watching hockey.
