Baud
Too many nations.
Randinho
Eight debutantes this time. Cameroon and the Netherlands are the only newbies who’ve won so far.
JCJ
Go Thailand!
Just missed taking the lead!
Randinho
@Baud: The scheduling with regard to venue lcations has been poor. I don’t recall group games occurring simultaneously during the men’s WC.
Not to mention no games in Toronto. WTF?
ThresherK
Wow, that was wiiiiide open.
ThresherK
Okay, this goalline technology is something I like.
JCJ
Thailand 2 : 1 at the half

Good game so far. Fun to watch, if not the best the tourney has to offer.
Morzer
There’s a certain charm to two sides with porous defenses going at each other like a bag of indignant hamsters.
Steeplejack
Hey, can someone repost the link(s) to stream the games on line (especially FS2).
Asking for a friend.
JCJ
Cleared off the line by Sunisa Srangthaisong!

They’ve generally got decent streams.

@Randinho:
Toronto is still in mourning after losing the effervescent presence of the Buffalo Bills.
Steeplejack
I didn’t think Thailand would be this much better than CIV. In fact, I didn’t know they were supposed to be better at all.
Morzer
@Steeplejack:
I think it’s very nice of the Thai players to roll the pitch down for the groundstaff as well as performing their sporting duties.
ThresherK
@Steeplejack: Hey, I’ve got that bookmarked. Thanx!
Morzer
I can’t help feeling that the Thai team might consider tackling at some point as a defensive tactic.
Morzer
Leaving aside the relatively limited skill of both teams, the audience seems to be having a blast, which is great to see.
JCJ
Yay Thailand! My wife and daughter are cheering wildly!
Morzer
@JCJ:
I am happy for them (and you, by extension) but that was one epically strange bunglefest of a game. Great fun to watch in its hallucinatory way, mind you!
Steeplejack
@Morzer:
Thanks!
Steeplejack
@ThresherK:
I also found this potentially useful Reddit page.
If you go to the parent page, there is a post for every WWC match with a similar level of detail.
JCJ
@Morzer:
That game was definitely lacking in quality, but still entertaining. I was going nuts watching the sponge-like defense.
Just One More Canuck
@Randinho: Toronto has the Pan Am games in July (I am hearing juicers everywhere saying “what the hell are the Pan Am games”) so they couldn’t schedule any of the world cup games here. Instead we get a massive traffic headache for games no-one cares about. Even the soccer for the Pan Am games is in Hamilton (about a hour from Toronto)
