@MobiusKlein: What I’ve seen of the game thus far tells me that the Metherlands finishing is crappy, but as you noted, they have definitely had their chances.

@Randy Paul aka Randinho: And, game.

I thought the ref called that stoppage time a little tight at the end. Just sayin’.

@piratedan: It’s a beautiful thing. I think social media has had a lot to do with it. People talking to people, directly, without the filter of the corporate media. This, really, is how democracy is supposed to work. See how fast this happened? Should have happened 150 years, but now it’s finally happening. Awareness of police brutality against communities of color– ignored by the media for generations, now finally even white people are aware of it now. LBGT rights have taken huge strides in just the last year, feminism has in the last few years become re-energized, people are finally talking about income inequality and a living wage and the problems with concentration of capital… etc.
The thing that gives me hope: just think of how many other intractable, hard, deeply-rooted, will-never-change problems might possibly get solved in the next few years if this keeps up?
What’s the next thing we want to improve or completely change? If we start talking about it, maybe it can happen.

The problem with Japan v Netherlands is that the shuffleboard court has to be absolutely smooth in order for Japan to prevail. But the Netherlands may still have better pole vaults.
