    I’d rather be playing the Reggae Boyz than Haiti. Jamaica is a better team than Haiti, but they lack the speed that the US struggled with in group play. I think 2-0 is about right.

    @Wyrm1: I’ll have to go 2-1 USA because of the American defensive center backs. Are Brooks and Alvarado supposed to have tremendous upside? Is that why they are starting? They have looked pretty terrible all tournament. I thought the Gonzalez and Ream pairing was much better and Gonzalez was an improvement over Brooks in the last match. I was actually shocked that neither Brooks or Alvarado was dropped for Besler after the group stage.

    US showing speed going forward but lacking final pass.

    Barnes got dished a nice pass in the middle of the box and put it in the cheap seats. Not sure what the US center backs were doing.

    @Tripod: There ain’t no cheap seat there tonight with both the US and Mexico playing. I think the worst seat (the ones that I get for the SEC championship game) were $150.

    Bit of a unlucky bounce for the US – they aren’t reacting well to the goal, look flustered in midfield.

    US looked like the better side up until the goal. Will be interesting to see if the Jamaicans come out more defensively in the second half and if the US is able to continue getting quality scoring chances against that more defensive posture.

    (EDIT: And I guess the answer to the latter is “YES!!!!!”)

    Well, we have definitely struggled with their speed, but the defense was embarrassing on the first goal (great header by Mattocks though) and the second was just a great free kick from a stupid foul by Guzan. Hopefully we will get the second back, we seem to be swarming in the second half

    @Randinho: Same with me. Mexico/US in the consolation game would at least show an increase in CONCACAF depth past these two squads.

    Jamaica outplayed the US and probably deserved the win…. oh well.
